Anyone else got family who just don't seem to get it?

I'm dealing with a frustrating situation with the one member of my family who I thought would be decent. No matter how many times I explain that I'm on immunesuppressants, they keep bringing themselves and their family around me with fevers and active infections. When I bring it up, I'm accused of having health anxiety even when I explain that every infection means I can't take my meds and can lead to a flare. And every flare can do permanent damage.

This weekend they've done it again. All I've asked is to be informed ahead of time so I can make my own decision but I found out this time when their feverish kid gave me a hug.

I'm due to see them later today and again have texted asking to be informed. It's a once in a blue moon event with extended family that I really can't miss but I'm preparing myself to be let down again and trying to decide what my next move should be.

Has anyone else had a similar situation and if so, how did you deal with it?

Chores

Hi guys,

Mom of an undiagnosed 7 year old here (waiting for assessment but we are pretty damn sure).

He has a lot of trouble with school, seems quite burned out during the week by the time we get home and is generally just incredibly resistant to anything that seems difficult. I'm finding it hard to balance wanting to help him chill after a hard day vs teaching him how to care for himself and his home.

At the same time, while he seems slower to gain skills he does still need to gain skills. I'm wondering what is an appropriate amount of chores to give. He cleans up after himself at meals and puts dirty clothes into the hamper (poorly) but thats about it.

What do chores look like in your home? How do you adjust for low capacity days? How quickly did you build up tasks?

Apologies if this is disjointed , im writing it in multiple bursts around cooking food hes refused to eat and tantrums because I told him thats fine, he can go hungry now go get dressed 🫠
