A success post!

I posted for help a few weeks ago because my beautiful teenage staffy was pulling my shoulder off. I took all your advice and this is him on walks now! It’s not a perfect heel, I still let him stop and sniff as long as the leash is loose, I don’t need a perfectly trained dog just one I can comfortably walk :) I just turned it into a really simple game - if he gets to the end of the leash, we step back and do a circle so he’s on my left hip. If he’s walking there, he gets heaps of praise and the occasional treat. He figured it out quickly!

Yes I know the leash got tangled I was trying to film don’t worry I fixed it

Help with loose leash!

As you can see from the video he is engaged with me, when I stop walking he comes straight back to me for a treat. I try getting him alongside me for a few steps before rewarding. But the second I mark it he runs to the end of the leash. I’m worried about his throat! We stopped the harness because it gave him super pulling abilities. He’s an 8 month staffy rescue.
