uber or lyft or European equivalent?

We will be in Rome next week. Is there an Uber or Lyft or European equivalent used around Rome? Are they comparable price-wise to the white taxi?

need itinerary advice please

My family of four are traveling in July- flying into Rome? doing 3 days there and 1 day in Florence. Then taking high speed train to Naples, where we are staying 3 nights. I need a little guidance por favore on the amalfi coast portion.

*. We want more of a restful portion of this part of the vacation. ( especially for teens after Rome and Florence)

day 1: arrive mid morning and spend the whole day and evening discovering Naples

day 2/3. : suggestions? Sorrento or Positano? cruise to Capri - heard it's overcrowded in summer

day 4: we have a tour booked in Pompeii followed either by Mt Vesuvius or Herculean

Pompeii to Mt Vesuvias

My questions on this page have gotten such helpful responses so here's another please:

We will be in Pompeii ( family of 4 including 2 teens) and are finishing a tour of Pompeii at 11:30 and have a train from Pompeii station to Naples at 5. In between 11;30 and 4 we would like to book some sort of private ( or with others) bus that will take us from Pompeii to My Vesuvius - NOT give us a tour of My Vesuvius due to teens- but give us the round trip transfers to get us back to Pompeii by 4/430. is there such a thing? I prefer not to figure out the public buses to do this trip
thank you for reading anf any helpful advice

airport transfers to hotel in Rome

Hi my family of four will be in Rome in a few weeks with probably 2 big bags and 2 small bags. staying near vatican city area. Advice from those who have gone this recently- would we have trouble in the taxi line for a car to fit us? If so does anyone have a private transport company you can recommend and do you tip drivers?

transport advice from airport to vatican area apartment rental

Hi- traveling family of four in July. Can you recommend most efficient and not too expensive way to get from Rome airport to our apartment rental in the Vatican area? Basically need to know if "Uber" equivalent exists or a taxi is recommended and if they take credit cards or if it's better to pay in local currency.

Rome to Florence travel advice please

My family of four will be traveling round trip Rome to Florence for the day mid-July back to hotel that night in Rome. Which high speed train do you recommend and for mid-July in your experience is that train so crowded that we have to buy train tickets in advance before we leave the US? Also do we need museum tickets/tours in advance to the Il Duomo and Uffizi museums as well as the Florence Academy museum ( Michaelangelo). Thank you in advance
