2025 Etsy transparent report

2025 Etsy transparent report

Every year Etsy puts out different reports in regards to how the site is performing. This report talks about how many sellers and buyers are on the platform, how many listings and sellers were removed, what was the main reason for removal, that sort of thing.

I just wanted to share this as I find info and stats fascinating and interesting.

Plus, though it may feel like Etsy isn't doing anything, they are still doing something. (Granted they could be doing more, but that's besides the point)

Here's a link to the report and past years reports as well - https://investors.etsy.com/governance-impact-reporting/impact-reporting-and-resources

If you would like to watch a YouTube video about it, Starla Moore just did a live stream talking about this - https://www.youtube.com/live/4Nnov4-D9wg?si=YNotfgpx5trp0ij2

Which is where I got the idea to post and share this report.

Not currently live, but wanted to say Hi

I'm been lurking in this subreddit for a while now and thought that it was time to make a post.

I've been streaming for about almost 4 months now and I've been loving every minute of it.

I mostly stream Genshin Impact, but I also try to do 1 non gaming stream a week where I spend time drawing, sewing, or making products for my small business.

I'm also a Vtuber and I was the one who both draw and rigged my model. Which drawing it took a lot of time and the rigging left me with bit of a headache, I love how it turned out.

If you want to drop in and say hi, I tend to go live on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 11 Am to 3 Pm PDT.

You can find me here on Twitch - https://twitch.tv/an_ode_to_creativity/home

And I also multi stream to youtube under the same name.

Posts removed by crowd control and reddit systems still viewable on subreddit feed

I don't know if this is a glitch, a bug or something that I did, but I've noticed that any post that should have been removed by crowd control, spam, and reputation settings are currently still up and viewable on my subreddit.

This is something that I noticed today and most comments on these posts are about 5 to 6 hours old even if the post was from a couple of days ago. I've scrolled through my subreddit a little bit and have found a couple posts from 10 days ago that were originally removed by crowd control, but is now somehow viewable.

As far as I'm aware this issue is only with posts. Any comments that were marked as spam or reputation is still removed. I normally use the web version of Reddit either on my desktop (chrome) or phone (Samsung browser). So, I've also double checked to see if these posts were viewable on my phone using the app and logged out of my account and they are.

I tried to search a few other subreddits and even googled this issues, but so far I haven't been able to find anything in regards to this issue. Just looking for further information on how to handle this or best place to report it.

Karam limit and account age

Over the last month or so, I've been seeing a lot more posts and comments that haven't been made in earnest, that come across as spam, or are of people just trolling. I want this subreddit to be a place where people can ask questions, receive guidance, and help each other out.

However, for the last little bit I don't feel like the posts nor comments reflect that vision.

Since I've taken over as mod (7 months ago) this subreddit has grown from 25k members to 35k members. Which is amazing and thank you so much. However, as this subreddit grows so to the rules and systems.

Which is why I've decided to implement a minimum karma of 10 and account age of 15 days (only for posts) at this time. I'm hoping that this will quell the spam, trolls, low effort, and AI posts that I've been seeing a bit more as of late.

Any posts that get caught within this filter will be sent off for manual review. If I believe that the post is made in earnest then I approve the post however if not then it will just stay as removed.

I will continue to monitor the situation and make any changes necessary (like extending this rule to comments as well) in order to strike a balance between legitimate and non legitimate posts.

If you have any questions, concerns, or even suggestions for the subreddit please feel free to either leave a comment or send me a mod message.
