Bag for a friend

I made this for a friend I work with. We work on freight trains so this is sort of an overnight/work bag for trian trips.

It has a ton of rough edges and a lot of stuff I could have done better but I'm super new at this. My goal was to get it just under standard carry on size (I use my work bags for travel sometimes so I assume she might), to maximize internal carry space, and to have a ton of molle/palls to add pouches for extra junk.

My biggest issue was when I decided I wanted a leather bottom that sort of goes up the sides a bit (so it doesn't wear out when dragged). It did work out but there has to be a better way than what I did. Also it resulted in the liner being all wonky at the bottom.

NMD (new machine day) and I already screwed it up. Badly.

My JIN NA11ut came today and I managed to blow up the control board. 100% my fault but just needed to vent.

The head came with an Australian plug and the back of the machine was marked 220v 50-60hz. I emailed the retailer and they said to look for a north american plug... in the leg box there was a regular 120v north american plug, perfect.

Mistake number one was thinking I knew better and should put a 240v north american plug on it and plugging it into a 240v outlet. The machine turned on just fine but when I stepped on the pedal there was a fairly loud snap and the screen said "powering off" or something like that.

I busted open the board and found 2 fuses soldered onto the board (they can't make if easy). So I ordered new fuses and then made my second mistake. I sort of bypassed the fuses with some wire so I could try out my new machine! And out the 120v plug on.

This time it didn't wait for me to do anything. As soon as I turned on the power switch... really bad things happened as seen in photos.

At this point I'm not sure what to do. I'm too embarrased to email the store I bought it from so I emailed the ONE authorised juki dealer in Canada to see if they can sell me a new part.

Sailrite or industrial?

Ive been looking into getting a walking foot machine for making gear so I don't destroy my domestic machine. People generally recomend getting a used industrial machine but there are very few used industrial machines near me.

There is one almost new industrial machine (I think its a Titan TN-650 or 750) for sale in my city for about 1800 CAD or I could buy a new sailrite and probably end up spending > 2000 CAD by the time I ship it and convert to CAD.

Any thoughts about these two machines or industrial vs portable walking foot machines in general?
