Building stock analysis site right here in Dublin

Building stock analysis site right here in Dublin

Hey folks! I’ve been building Stockbruh.com, a stock analysis site for beginners, right here in Dublin.

Stockbruh breaks down complicated company fundamentals into plain English, without all the finance jargon, so you can get a better sense of whether a company looks solid… or like a dumpster fire 😄. Even my 8 yr old (Go Dolphins!) understands the analysis.

I also recently added a Roast feature where you can get feedback on your portfolio and investing strategies.

I built the whole thing with beginners in mind, so if you’re just getting into investing, give it a try. Would especially love to hear what fellow Dublin residents think!

Beginners Must Read - Don’t buy penny stocks

Penny stocks are insanely easy to manipulate.
A few people buy in early
They hype it on Reddit, Discord, TikTok
Price shoots up
Regular folks jump in late
The early guys dump their shares
And the price collapses like a Jenga tower after a toddler touches it
Who ends up holding the bag?
You.
The person who thought they were early… but was actually the exit liquidity.

Companies priced like gas station snacks are priced like gas station snacks for a reason.
Nothing that’s truly the “next big thing” trades for 87 cents with a balance sheet held together by hopes and good vibes.

What Actually Works
If you’re starting out, hear me clearly:
Stick to real companies.
Ones with revenue.
With actual customers.

With business models that don’t hinge on “one magical press release.”
Build wealth like you build muscle:
Slow, steady, consistently, without shortcuts.

What is Stockbruh, and why are we building it?

https://preview.redd.it/nkklqhfet5gh1.jpg?width=685&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d7d0bbe578561b168c5013c6c95c0f15b7252eb

Back in 2019, I was clueless about investing. Stocks? ETFs? Dividends? All these terms were floating around, but honestly, I didn’t know where to start. The word stocks always showed up images of market crash, losing money and honestly it felt like gambling. But then talking to finance bros in my friends circle and learning that they were killing it, I felt like I was missing out. Every time I asked them how they picked solid investments, I was told to look into so much jargon (like PE Ratio, intrinsic value for example) and complicated charts, that made me feel even dumber.

Let’s be real. No one wants to feel like they need an MBA in finance just to understand how to grow their money.

Over time, I started picking up bits and pieces. Slowly, it began to make sense. I made mistakes, learned from them, and finally figured out a way to approach investing without losing my mind (that story is for another time). But looking back, I kept asking myself: Why wasn’t there something simple, something approachable, for people like me back then? Yes there was Robinhood, and a bunch of other sites which all made buying stocks easier. But none of them helped me understand easily what I’m investing in. I was never 100% sure if the company I’m investing in was good or just hyped up.

And that’s how Stockbruh started taking shape.

Stockbruh is for anyone who’s ever stared at a stock chart and thought, “Nope, not today.”

The idea came from my own frustration. I wanted to create a platform where:

  • Investing isn’t rocket science. You don’t need to decode a bunch of confusing metrics to make good decisions. We just need things explained in plain English, no frills.
  • Time matters. Everyone's busy, so Stockbruh makes it quick and easy to vet our investments. Think of it like swiping through Instagram, fast, efficient, and no wasted effort.
  • We feel confident. Instead of second-guessing ourselves or relying on random advice, Stockbruh gives us the tools to invest with purpose.

But there’s a bigger picture here. We want to create a platform that feels less like a “finance app” and more like a friend guiding you through the chaos of the stock market ( Stock’bruh’ – now you get the name? ;)). A friend who speaks your language, gets your vibe, and helps you make sense of it all.

Where We’re Headed

This is just the beginning. Right now, we’re a small team, burning the midnight oil, trying to bring this idea to life. But we have big dreams.

We want Stockbruh to be the go-to platform for beginners to show them that investing doesn’t have to be scary or overwhelming.

More than that, we’re building a community. A place where you can learn, grow, and feel like you belong, no matter how much or how little you know about stocks.

Do give us a try here at https://stockbruh.com

Portfolio Roasts

Some of you might know I’ve been building Stockbruh a simple tool for beginner investors to sanity-check stocks and ETFs before putting money in.
I kept running into the same thing though: a lot of folks already have a portfolio (or a shortlist) in mind. They just want honest feedback on what looks solid and what’s shaky.
So I built Stockbruh Roasts:
https://www.stockbruh.com/roasts
You drop in your picks and it calls out the hits and misses in a pretty straightforward (and slightly fun) way. No signup required to try it.
Still early, so I’d genuinely love feedback - what felt useful, what felt off, what you’d change. Roast the roast tool if you want 😄

“I have a gut feeling abt this” is not a strategy

Your gut is great for deciding what to eat. It is terrible at valuing equities.
The tip: before you buy, be able to finish the sentence "I'm buying this because _____" without using the words vibe, feeling, or moon. If the only reason is that it went up recently, congrats, you've discovered the exact moment everyone else already bought.
Have a reason. Write it down. Then when it dips, you can check whether your reason still holds instead of panic-selling based on a different, equally unqualified gut feeling.

I built a free tool to help beginners understand stocks and ETFs in plain English

I’ve always found it frustrating that researching a stock often means jumping between 10 different websites, learning a bunch of finance jargon, and still wondering if I’m missing something.
So over the last couple of years I’ve been building a side project called Stockbruh: https://www.stockbruh.com

The idea is pretty simple:
Explain stocks and ETFs in plain English.
Give a quick sanity check before investing your hard-earned money.
Highlight things like growth, profitability, dividends, debt, and valuation without making you read a 100-page annual report.
Make ETFs just as easy to understand.

It’s definitely not meant to tell you what to buy or replace your own research. I just wanted something that could answer the question, “Does this investment generally look healthy?” before I dig deeper.
I’m still improving it and would genuinely love feedback from beginner investors.
If you try it, I’d really appreciate hearing:
What confused you?
What was actually useful?
What’s missing?
Thanks, and I hope it helps someone avoid making at least one bad investment decision.
