Dry skin after Tanning
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone might be able to give me some advice or share their experience if they’ve dealt with something similar.
I started fake tanning about two months ago, usually once a week. Before that, I’d never really fake tanned, but I tried it and absolutely loved feeling tan rather than pale!
However, over the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed that I’ve started developing eczema in certain areas, particularly on my thighs and arms. Before I started fake tanning, I’d say I had naturally dry skin and would occasionally get seasonal eczema but it wasn’t a normal occurrence as i moisturised regularly, it was nothing like what I’m experiencing now.
I’m wondering if removing my fake tan every week and reapplying it is drying out and irritating my skin. I’d really love some tips on how to remove old fake tan without negatively affecting my skin.
I currently use the Bondi Sands exfoliating glove, but I’ve found that I have to scrub quite hard to completely remove the tan. Sometimes I end up scrubbing too much and actually give myself a rash in certain areas.
Because of this, I started using the Bondi Sands tan remover foam, which has definitely helped with the excessive scrubbing and means I’m not getting those rashes anymore. However, I feel like the foam is also drying my skin out even more.
I do moisturise every night after tanning, so I’m not neglecting that part of my routine. I just feel like the actual process of removing my tan each week is what’s really drying out and irritating my skin.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what do you do to remove your old tan without damaging or drying out your skin? I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations! ❤️
