I've had my account for 2 years now but I barely used it, mostly just browsing -- reading posts and comments.

Lately, I bacame more interested in subreddit discussions but most of the time I don't interact and just read stuffs and comment sometimes (if my karma points allow)

So, do I have to join a subreddit? Or is it okay if I don't?

Can someone explain these subreddits? Are these like exclusive groups or what? Also, are there perks in joining one?

Now, I tried to comment on a subreddit post that I found interesting but it was automatically deleted because it appears that there is a required karma points which I don't have.

I also want to share my thoughts but most subreddits require certain amount of karma which I don't have. What should I do?
