Nameless King from Hell vs Scholar (D5)

Phase 1 - 2:19
Phase 2 - 5:29

D5 Darkdrift Knight expedition

We failed to kill Astel in the rain, resulting in the team ending day 2 at level 8/9. I was running base scholar stats and didn’t find an arcane weapon so my damage wasn’t very good. The team is 3bar to start the fight.

Through sheer willpower we came out on top. We went on to defeat base fulghor after this; my ‘magma on charge attacks’ dagger was able to interrupt him every single time. Would not have been possible without this weapon.

I realized I didn’t have my weapon with periodical glintblades passive out the entire time… hindsight is 20/20.

Respect and thanks to my teammates for not giving up. It’s runs like these that keep me playing the game. My heart was pounding out of my chest during the double 3 bar revive!

What do I need for difficulty 5?

Hi all I’ve finished the game and DLC for the first time. I really liked fighting the dlc final boss so I’ve been playing thru the difficulties. I just beat him on D4 and tried D5, holy cow he just one shots you if you make a single half-second timing mistake.

Obviously this is expected for difficulty 5 but I feel like I’m not doing a whole lot of damage overall. My time for difficulty 3 was 4:06 and difficulty 4 was 5:43. Feels like D5 is gonna take a lot longer than that.

I’ve heard you get more p-organ upgrades in ng+ that can help. Do I need to play into NG+ to realistically have a shot at difficulty 5 without basically doing a challenge run? And what specific upgrades do I need?

Thanks for any help guys

Level 94, NG
Vitality 35
Vigor 20
Cap 25
Mot 7
Tech 40
Adv 6
