Hello reddit, we are Robix, the robotics & automation club of FRCRCE. Ask us anything! We are a group of students who make competitive bots, robosoccer bots and other electronics and robotics projects. We have decided to have a fun Ask Us Anything session.

Here are a few things about us if you don't already know about us:

1. We have represented our college for various robosumo, roborace, robosoccer and similar such events.

2. Made up of students with a wide range of experience.

3. Work on mechanical design, electronics, and programming and practically anything that involves any hardware

Some of my friends are becoming Campus Ambassadors for College's and Internshala, Career360 etc. So I was thinking if I should also apply for becoming CA for IIT Bombay Techfest.

Ye tumlog ka aakhri time hoga with such long holidays. Ek baar college start hoga to eng colleges ke vacation sirf 1-1.5 months ka hoga. Enjoy as much as you can. 1 saal baad cet ke results mere liye ab matter nhi karte. So result jo bhi aaye, dont panic, it doesnt define you. (Nonetheless CET Cell pichle saal bhi bkl tha kal bhi tha aaj bhi hai aur hamesha rahega 🤡).Struggle 12th mein bhi tha aur Engineering College mein bhi hai so it doesn't matter which college you get into trust me (oh yeah but please avoid ekdam tier 999 type of colleges with bad crowd, bad influence is very prevalent and gonna ruin your career in long run. Hence keep your hopes high and try for ACAP seats too in a decent college if you can afford to lose CAP round colleges). Also please don't trust the placement bullshit of most of these colleges. The market is not good tbh. Layoffs are going on and will go on due to the current economic stagnation and geopolitical tensions. Most of the eng colleges are reaching out to their alumnis for hiring students and thats how they maintain their placement %. Try upskilling yourself in this vacation and please please learn programming from scratch if you dont know the basics. Professors especially rush the syllabus and you remain with half baked knowledge and end moment pe exam ke answers pe bhi syntax error aur Practicals mein bhi syntax errors ayenge and you'll be clueless. Vibecoding works too but please blindly mat karna, understand what each line of code is doing. Also don't be reliant on saturated fields like web dev and data science, explore niches like cryptocurrency, block chain, cybersecurity (latest news - Arch linux packages were compromised cause of a malware), web3, 3d printing and many more. Try researching on these fields or more niches during the vacations and see which suits your interest. The most in demand role in CS right now in Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE). Highlight of this role is to directly interact with your client who needs your software solution and curate it as per their need by communicating it with them. Try exploring more about this, you can say it's an upgraded version of software engineer. Chalo Mera Bhashan hogaya. End note - Chill kro aur darr ko darana sikho (main bhi on the way hoon iss skill ko sikhne mein so can't give roadmap 😅😂).

Edit 1 - ACAP seats are not highly suggested(Cause you will be exempted from ebc scholarship benefits and no guarantee of getting a seat due to large pool of applicants). I just stated it as an option or a last resort to prevent you guys from joining absolutely shady colleges if you don't want to take a drop.

Edit 2 - My intention of including that coding part was that programming fundamentals , atleast c language will be common for all 1st years and everyone has different pace to adapt to coding. Personally i struggled a LOT! hence i suggested that so that your cgpa doesnt take a hit later on when youll be in college.
