What are some cards that are currently alright or plain bad, but you think have clear potential should the right new cards be introduced?

Always thought that the P-077 Ulti was an amazing card (when don-2: reramp 1 and restand a purple stage), that is currently limited to Animal Kingdom Pirates and Onigashima. It is pretty good, but should a powerful purple stage that rests itself be introduced to the game I feel like the card would suddenly jump in relevance and almost be a must have.

What are some other cards like this? Even more interesting if it is cards that are just flat bad currently 🤔 (even if it is batch 1 and the dream is dead 😔)

Many thoughts on the Hellbreak TCG gameplay

So, I recently got to play my first match of Hellbreak with the demo decks (I played Jaws and my opponent played Dracula)

We played North Beach and Calafax Abbey respectively.

I really like the resource system with both Blood and Malice generation being an important thing to balance in ones gameplay, too little blood and you cannot play your cards, too little malice and you delay your minions actions too much giving your opponent time to remove them. It felt like an interesting challenge to see how to hit that resource sweet spot.

I do feel like the game has an issue when it comes to the value proposition of 1-2 cost cards and the bidding system at least for the decks we played.

I had "Orca" in hand very early on and kinda got stuck neither wanting to bid it or play it. Bidding it would mean giving Dracula his effects and compared to bidding 4-5 costs the resource gain was the same while it would mean dracula was almost guaranteed to get his effect.

The thought of playing "Orca" felt very slow basically giving my opponent 3 turns free reign as often my actions would have been:

* Playing Orca

* Playing a Character with Malice to ready it (cause often none are on board)

* Action with Orca

Long term yes it would give me advantages with my characters, but it felt like each player action was impactful enough so that one did not have the time to spend that many turns allowing the opponent responses.

In general too, low cost cards or something like wide board strategies felt extremely disincentivized cause the opponent often have a direct opportunity to respond to every low cost you play. I do worry that unlucky draws into low costs or cards that don't match ones blood curve may be extremely punishing cause you then have to put yourself at a card disadvantage playing multiple cards to stall your opponent, it becomes sorta an anti-snowball.

A thing I like is that card draw does not feel that crazy powerful in this game and could be freely added into the design of cards.

The 6 card hand limit and how many resource drains there are in the game seems to be more than enough to balance out too strong draw power in my opinion.

It could be an interesting thing to see 1-2 cost bids/cards having 3 resources each and maybe draw icons, so underbidding for the initiative also can be really beneficial. 4-5 costs in Jaws at least were simply too good compared to the lower costs otherwise, cause they bid for higher with the same resources and were stronger to play too.

Basically then you wouldyou underbid for resources and overbid for effects and first turn advantage.

Example:

1-2 cost would have 2-3 resources

4-6 would have 1-2 resources

+7 would have 1 resource (i know some have 2 in the demo deck)

Anyways these were some thoughts on mine, big read here 🤣

What do you think of the gameplay so far?

Hear me out and give your opinions. Would it be interesting to see some form of ruling to stop overhealing for yellow?

One way would be to add an extra ruling to how life on leaders work across the board.

Like a general rule and cap of life cards not being able to go past either 4 or the Base Life of the leader (whichever is higher)

This way, Vegapunk and Yellow Luffy can exist and do their thing, but other leaders cannot heal past their original life cards.

Healing is only reactive then pretty much and other decks don't have to hit into a wall that gives the opponent card advantage for as long 🤔
