What makes you want to get out of bed each morning? Am particularly interested in hearing about individuals’ personal motivations rather than societal motivations. (ie not just ‘partners,’ ‘kids’ or religion’).
It seems really silly that a person would “lend” large amounts of money to someone who they KNOW won’t be able to pay them back. I know theoretically they’ll make more money by charging high interest rates and seizing assets, but if the person doesn’t have money in the first place isn’t that like trying to get blood from a stone?
So, what is the point? Wouldn’t it better to invest the money instead? 😂
I was trying to imagine how we will be seen by humans way in the future. Not just a couple of generations ahead, but so far ahead that they don’t have a frame of reference for out current way life as it is so far removed from their own. They have to make educated guessed on what we were like based on fossils and whatever ancient artefact’s they find/historical records survive. I was wondering which parts they’d get wrong and which parts they’d get right and what kind of moral lens they’d use to judge us. Then I started wondering if humans would even last another couple of millenium. Everything ends eventually, is it even possible for us as a species to keep going indefinitely even though we keep evolving?
So I finally got round to watching Dragon Ball Z (I’m almost at the end of the second arc on Namek) and I’m curious - are the villains supposed to be more likeable than the hero’s? Cos as far as I’m concerned the best characters are Piccolo and Vegeta.
I find Goku especially annoying as he comes across as a big dumb jock who spends all his time training and taking steroids (Senzu beans), and turning up to save his friends AFTER they get their ass beat.
Gohan’s whimpering makes him sound like a cross between Beavis & Butthead and Cartman. But I actually kinda like Gohan as he’s come a long a way since the start and I can see he’s trying.
Before you come at me in the comments I am genuinely enjoying the show.
And to be fair to the DBU - I haven’t seen any of the other Dragon Ball shows. Will I like Goku more after I watch the original Dragon Ball series?
Am thinking of getting a Shark steam mop and was wondering if there is much of a difference between the two in terms of performance.
My friends and I need a room to rehearse. We literally just need a room, no equipment.
We usually get together once a week on a week day (the day varies according to availability) from 7pm - 10pm. We used to be able to get a room at Theatre Deli in London Bridge for just under £50 but it’s closing down.
Any suggestions?
Chris REALLY looked like he didn’t want to be there. He didn’t give any useful or interesting feedback to any of the comedians, even when he was trying to be encouraging and told the last group that they were all professional comedians regardless of whether they win, it felt forced. Even though I’ve seen and enjoyed his stand up specials, it made me start to wonder if he actually knows anything about comedy.
(Please note that I’m NOT saying that Chris isn’t funny, just pointing out that as a successful comedian he should at least be able to offer useful feedback to up and coming comedians on their performances)
