What is your opinion on games with ads?

I think I might be a minority, but I always prefer just buying the game. The price on mobile is small, and I hate ads.

I guess most of the people don't think that way?

Tell me, what is your opinion?

Gamers - how would you prefer to learn about a game mechanics which are complex?

Do you like a tutorial?

If you do, what is your expectation of a tutorial- how long it should last, how restrictive it should be in actions.

Or do you like to watch first a YouTube movie that explains?

Or you rather figure out by yourself?

How do you decide to buy a non-free, premium mobile game?

Do you buy only known titles that achieved commercial success on other platforms, like PC?

Would you prefer a game with a demo and unlock IAP?

Or are you not willing to pay for any mobile game?

Is there a portal/forum/platform where indie game developers meet content creators?

I imagine a place where each game developer and content creator have a profile, and they can match.

Is there anything like that?

What game makes good use of mobile screen?

I remember "where's my water" with a very clever use of the mobile platform. Basically you dig ground with your finger.

What other games do you know that are making a good use of the mobile phone?

Here is a very old game called Scarab Of Ra. Did you hear about it?

Scarab Of Ra

It's a 1987 game that featured:

  • A procedural generated maze with enemies and items
  • Permadeath
  • Items that you can collect and engage with different enemies
    • Though honestly there are only 4-5 different enemies
  • You gain over time knowledge about the world and learn tricks, so your next runs are better

Have you heard of it?

What was the roguelike game that you most remember, which affected you?

For me it was ADOM. I still remember the excitement of finding something new in this game. Harvesting the plants to improve toughness, drinking that potion, hoping for a weapon not to be cursed...
