From Australia considering Pitt Emergency Medicine — how is the program + social life?”

Hey everyone,

I’m considering applying to the University of Pittsburgh’s Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medicine program. I’m really interested in emergency medicine/paramedicine and Pitt’s program seems pretty unique, so I’m trying to learn more before I apply.

I wanted to ask:

  • How is the Emergency Medicine program overall?
  • Would you recommend it?
  • How are the professors, workload, clinical experiences, and opportunities?
  • Is Pitt good for making friends and meeting people?
  • What’s the social life like there? Parties, college culture, student atmosphere, etc.?
  • How is Pittsburgh itself for students?

I’d really appreciate honest opinions from current students or anyone familiar with the program. Thanks!

Domestic 1st year Health Science at Curtin – looking to meet new people (18–22)

Hey everyone,

I’m a domestic student, 18 years old, in my first year of Health Science at Curtin University.

I go to uni mainly on Thursdays and I’ve got a few people I know there, but I’ve found it a bit hard to actually connect and build a proper friend group. A lot of students seem to mainly stick with their high school friends, and I didn’t really come into uni with that kind of group.

Some people from my old high school have also talked badly about me, and I think it’s made things a bit awkward socially at uni, with a few people keeping their distance. Because of that, I’ve been feeling a bit isolated and just trying to put myself out there more.

I’ve got a couple friends at Curtin, and a few at UWA and Murdoch, but not a big circle yet.

Just putting this out there to see if anyone around 18–22 is also looking to meet new people, study together, or hang out sometime. Nothing weird — just trying to make some genuine friends at uni.

If you’re in a similar situation or open to meeting people, feel free to message me 🙂

I want to support a student at Perth Montessori School who is currently running a Homeless Hygiene Drive to help people experiencing homelessness in Perth, in partnership with Tom Fisher’s House – Vinnies.

They are collecting unopened hygiene and toiletry items such as:

  • Soap
  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Other basic hygiene essentials

📍 Donations can be dropped off at:
Perth Montessori School Front Office
150 Burswood Rd, Burswood WA 6100

🕗 Weekdays: 8:25am – 3:00pm
📅 Running from May – September

⚠️ While the poster mentions travel-sized items, any size hygiene products are welcome, as long as they are unopened, unused, and not expired.

Even small donations can make a real difference and help provide dignity and care to people in need.

If you’re able to contribute or share this, it would be genuinely appreciated ❤️
