University desperately needs instructional design consulting help - where to even start?

I'm a faculty development coordinator at a regional university and we're in crisis mode. Our online course quality is all over the place - some professors are amazing, others are basically uploading PowerPoints and calling it "distance learning". Administration finally approved budget for instructional design consulting but I have no idea how to evaluate potential partners. We've never worked with external instructional design consulting before and I'm honestly overwhelmed by all the options out there. What should I be looking for in instructional design consulting firms? Red flags to avoid? We need someone who can work with faculty (some are... resistant to change) and help us create actual engaging online experiences. Any success stories with instructional design consulting in higher ed?

Enzyme laundry booster options are overwhelming me, can someone just point me somewhere

so my roommate moved out last month and took her fancy detergent with her and I've just been using whatever generic stuff I grabbed from the dollar store. my clothes smell fine coming out but theres this one hoodie I wear constantly and it has like a permanent armpit situation that nothing is touching. googled it and now im three hours deep into some rabbit hole about enzyme laundry boosters and im more confused than when I started.

I'm not looking to spend a ton, I just want something that actually breaks down whatever is living in that hoodie and works with a regular top loader. if you have actually used an enzyme laundry booster and it did something noticeable please just tell me what it was

How closely your ai visiblity prompts match your potential buyers search?

We used to build our entire prompt library from sales call recordings and support tickets. Because the language came directly from real buyer conversations the queries surfaced seemed pretty accurate. But the entire process slow and boring and we could only work with whatever volume of calls we had.

Since adding tracking tools the process is much faster and we cover more ground. The tool suggests prompts we would never have thought to track. But we are still doubtful about completely switching to tools because what if we miss something we couldve pulled manually right now we use both. So want to ask if anyone is using both or has found a tool that generates specific enough prompts that manual research becomes unnecessary? even better if anyone knows a tool that can actually pull from call recordings or support tickets to build the prompt pool automatically.

Small roof leak… worth fixing now or wait?

Noticed a small stain starting to form near a vent after the last storm, not dripping or anything but definitely new. Part of me wants to just keep an eye on it since it’s minor, but I’ve also heard that these things get worse fast once water starts getting under shingles.

Trying to decide if it’s overkill to call someone out this early or if that’s actually the smarter move. I had Steadfast Roofing look at something similar before and they found the issue wasn’t even where the stain showed up which kinda threw me off.

Did anyone else get weirdly sentimental after replacing old flooring?

We’re replacing the old laminate in our living room, and I didn’t expect to feel a little sad about it.

When we first moved in, the floor already had scratches and a few spots that creaked near the couch. At the time, we kept saying we’d fix or replace it soon. Then life happened, kids happened, dogs happened, and somehow those little marks just became part of the house.

It was definitely time for a change though. The room needed something brighter and easier to keep clean. I looked at samples from a couple of DIY flooring places first, but it was hard to picture what they’d look like once they were actually in the room. Some looked nice under store lights, then totally different when I brought them home.

We ended up using 50Floor because they brought samples to the house, and seeing everything next to our couch, wall color, and normal daylight made the choice a lot easier. Funny enough, one color I almost ignored ended up looking the best in the room.

The new floor looks so much cleaner and makes the space feel more open, so I know it was the right call. But I still catch myself missing the old floor in a weird way, especially the little creaky spot we used to complain about.

Has anyone else replaced something in their home and then realized they were attached to the imperfect old version?
