Happy with all the hype and the fandom engagement lately

And there's actually substance to the posts (be it official or fan posts), and it feels so genuine. Maybe because I myself am that invested in the show and fandom spaces? Idk. I've been surfing on twitter, tumblr and reddit, and WOW. That's just the effect of LC, ig. It has built so much in the story, so many questions unanswered, so many plot points, and the amazing storytelling. Kudos to the creators! Ik the season hasn't even premiered yet, but thanks so much. And, I love this fandom.

There haven't been many shows or stories that I've been this excited about (albeit simultaneously scared of) before their release. With all the MVs and PVs they've fed us, there's just so much to look forward to. They've done a really good job with the buildup, I think.

But then again, there haven't been many shows that I've watched while they were ongoing, and barely any whose online communities I engaged with (this much) in real time. Regardless, feeling good with LC and the fandom. What about you guys? How do you feel?

P.S. if you've watched S3 episodes or episode PVs, please no related spoilers in the comments. I intend to take my time and need to keep myself spoiler-free. thanks :)

"Yuri!!! on Ice"

So this may not be true ofc, but I was just thinking that the reason it's 'Yuri!!! on Ice', not 'Yuri on Ice!!!' or simply 'Yuri on Ice' could be that they're highlighting Victor and Yuri's dynamic on ice :D i.e., their growing relationship through figure skating.

I'm imagining an excited and happy Victor going "Yuriii!!!" after Yuri's performance, for instance :D

Interesting that only CXS and QL have black hair, and everyone else have colored.

(edit: related to the poster) Could be simply artistic choice. Or...yk.

If black hair signifies relics of the past, let's say, (sorry) then, it's interesting how Vein stands out with his black turtleneck. Again, could be just artistic choice, or simply a Vein thing since he wears it as an adult as well (which in itself could also be interesting since he wears it so much that his child art also includes that...power-related somehow?). Regardless, I find it interesting in this context given how everyone else has the same outfit, but him with his turtleneck. Im also reminded of a comment, I think, on another post that pointed out black gloves worn by white-clothed JL on the chessboard while noone else had any gloves on them. That may or may not be connected to the present context, but reinforces the idea that their outfits are intentional.

And XF: half black hair. Interesting.

Theory: This could be signifying the fact that Vein is the reason CXS and QL die in the future/died in the past. XF then? Ig, half-dead in some (edit: symbolic) ways due to vein(edit: /vein's circumstances). (vein-xf dynamic will be sth then. feels heartbreaking to me.)

Also, if im in the right direction, and ql's white ribbon serves a purpose - say, hope - then Im afraid about CXS.

Theory alternative, overlapping the one above: just a thought since I used "relics" of the past. Relics imply continued existence. So, although these black haired ones existed only in the past until this point, they will continue to exist. Supported by ql's white ribbon and CXS's gesture with his hand, looking ahead/reaching out to the future (hopefully, like please).

I could go on thinking, but want to stop rn, so I'll leave XF as a question mark.

I did also think at one point that only black haired survive and colored don't (heartbreaking, heartbreaking, im sorry), but if I argue that ql's white ribbon depicts hope, then it would contradict colorful haired not making it.

(That randomly we started getting characters with colored hair had been on my mind for a long time.)

Btw, A-Yuan, black haired, is also supposed to be "someone from the past". And JL, black-haired, is "from Bridon", so also past-related, ig (tho this one feels a bit forced since many other characters are related to bridon).

Edit: again, could be simply artistic choice and im overthinking, but i found it quite interesting that only very few characters in the show have colored hair - namely, the trio, the twins, and WQ.

I don't want Gintama to ever end 😭

I need them to keep letting me be a part of their lives, letting me get a glimpse of them, keep making my heart warm, keep making me smile, and laugh, even cry if that's what they want 😭😭

I miss them.

Ik I wrote a post just a few hrs ago after watching the final movie. When I wrote that, I told myself that Gintama would never end for me, that I'd just keep rewatching, reading manga, fanfics, etc. But I really miss them now..

All positive, I was watching another anime (Saiki K) during dinner. But couldn't continue; really missed Gintoki. Went to AO3 (which I will continue), but here I am..

I really want the story to continue..doesn't have to be serious or action-filled arcs, just please continue, keep giving me things so I can continue, and I want to continue being a part of their lives..

Sorry, I had to express these feelings somewhere.

Best ending and best story ever

Just how I feel right now. So in love with Gintama :)

Lots of tears, but..damn, lots of smiles too. Love the writing, this anime. And the ending song with its vibe wraps it up so well. Can't express well what I'm feeling rn. My smile's only widening, and my heart is filled with love for it. (Though a part of me is also crying coz it's over. But remembering all the moments from it fill me with love, and though momentarily, I forget about crying. :) )

Have a good day, y'all :)

(edit: to clarify, by "best ending", I meant the arc/movie :) )

Can't seem to be able to watch anymore

Having watched the entire assassination arc today, I don't know how to move on. It's too painful. I just feel like crying every time I think about it. I don't know how Gintoki manages to laugh. I wouldn't be able to. I've already cried a river, and I think I will again. How can I laugh again? It's not one of those serious arcs where things work out in the end. The past that has been revealed can never be turned back. It's already happened. There's no changing that. How am I supposed to move on knowing that? Idk why I'm here talking about his, tbh. But it's just too painful. Idk what to do. It's too much. It's just too much.

edit, update: I watched a little something close to my heart, and realized that the past and the pain are a part of it. I have to carry it with me. So I'll watch it. Idk how soon I'll be able to, but I'll continue. Sorry I don't have anything to say in reply to the comments. But thank you all.

HEALTHILY OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG <3

Now where do I begin? This is probably the only song that I've in my entire life, not just listened to, but watched, on loop. It's a blisss..

Beautiful visuals. And it's a different kind of beauty. Gorgeous? Charming? Sth more? I'm not a critic, but I really loved what I can only describe as the softness of the visuals. I never thought pink could be as ..attractive? Though the MV isn't colorful/vibrant, is in fact quite grayish, it keeps pulling me towards it. The entire MV feels light.. Sth I can repeat on loop and feel the same bliss each time. Also noteworthy I think are the small subtle motions. Not sth they've done for the first time, but Idk, this one really brings life to the characters and the MV, I feel. And the eyes..the eyes of both LX and JL..irresistible..they perfectly convey strong emotions, l think, and their personalities. I feel like they've put quite an effort in their eyes and expressions.

For the song itself and what we see happening... WOW. JUST WOW. The chemistry and tension is just 🤌🤌 Having watched multiple times, I don't think a lot of things actually happen. But even if there was no censorship, I feel like a lot is happening. (though the lyrics..oh the lyrics!..makes it so apparent.) I'm blessed. It's just so perfect. Absolutely love it. Very perfectly erotic, ig, haha (edit: sensual is prolly a better term) . The buildup is insanely good. I was blushing through and through. With LX in the bathtub, when that transition shot happened, my face literally went into my palms 😂. There's so much of playfulness and flirtatiousness. Idk if everyone noticed, but after the line 'Let me take that thrill and it tastes yum yum (Yum) Like' (and yes, there is that line :D), there's a whistle. Which always makes me smile :D

The MV is also so satisfying. I obviously would've loved more of it (want an entire season of it lol), but I really was looking forward to this song, wondering just what they'd show, and, I feel like it's neither over the top, nor just sth meant for hype, but rather..hmm how do I say this.. akin to a complete story, perhaps. In itself, it leaves you satisfied. Which truly is amazing, I think, and it probably shows how well directed it is.

And what's with how pretttyyy Liu Xiao is in this?? And Jae Lee..especially with the gun..with each re-watch, I find him..hot?? Unexpected. I love them. Love their chemistry. Love the complementary and catchy melody. Love the usual mystery element. Love this song sm. I really hope they get together in the end. But the more I learn and think about the song, the more apparent it becomes that it probably won't end well. And that's making me scared.

Lh0 sure knows how to hurt us, huh? I can take being hurt, but please give them (and all the characters while you're at it) a happy ending. Like pretty please!

Can't believe they're making us love this song sm

I love this song. Love everything about it. Been looping without any desire to stop honestly. But let's look at the lyrics:

"...
Sever all connections
With your own reflections
Suffer in this mess
Endlessly
...
You built these walls to cage yourself
And now there's nowhere left to run
...
"

Damn.

Not the first time they made a song built on Lu Guang's misery, but I think when I listened to the previous ones, I felt some sorrow and felt the story, etc., but this time, I am truly just enjoying the song - I think, for the song itself. Im not sure how to explain this, like, it's not that the story isn't in the back of my mind, but I'm not necessarily thinking about it, and with all my heart, fully, just enjoying the song. Amazing.

Perhaps the only silver lining in the song, btw, is this:

" The hour's at its darkest
You are not enough for this"

This hurts, too, sure. But I think it can also suggest that LG will reach out and receive help from others this time. Or I'm just being too hopeful.

Love this song.

Couple of thoughts related to Ep 6 events of BA

So I've been re-watching Bridon Arc, and a couple of things (edit: and theories) came to mind. Some of these have previously been discussed, I think, back when the season aired, but I don't remember now, sorry.

First:
- LX tells XF in the movie theater after XF says that he'd like to end his cooperation with LX (spying on CXS and LG) that if XF had stayed a bit longer, he might've seen something interesting, as if he knew what would happen.
- He wasn't alarmed at all when he heard XF receive the news of Vein's death.
- In end, presumably LX opens the bag in which Vein's body is kept.
- When Vein gets the heart attack, he's (edit: I mean Vein is) surprised.
What I'm thinking based on these points, and that LX "can control heartbeat", is that LX had prolly made a deal of some kind with WQ and helped in Vein's heart attack. (the 'how' is interesting ofc. Somehow has to do with reciting a person's real name and WQ's own powers?)
(only for LX to later also revive Vein (or not really cause a true death, let's say), so he tricked WQ, although, I'm thinking WQ took the diary with her (edit: such that LX tricked both WQ and Vein).
(and because Vein's didn't know of the 'deal', he later has a quarrel/fight with LX. We saw something like that in a trailer/PV, I think?)
Any thoughts?

And second, last time I thought lu guang was hoping that in causing a little shift in events, he could cause a major change. However, only this time am I wondering how could LG have predicted/hoped for such a MAJOR shift? Like, how could he have expected that delaying Vein's entrance to the room in which CXS and WQ/CXS's mom were could even _potentially_ result in a major change to Vein's life? The things he says to Vein and the way he acts, with his smile and "hope I never see you again" makes me feel like he's not trying to make any random change, but that he's kinda calculated things. Which is SO interesting. Did he know about this deal between WQ and LX? Which also takes me back to a discussion I'd had in a post recently: just how much does LG know? He acts like Vein's the only problem for his goal of living a peaceful life with CXS and QL, but he also acts like he knows other things. For eg., in BA, he seems to know LX. And given that Vein in the first episode of BA (during the fight at time studio) tells them that they shouldn't have changed/messed with the past, I'm thinking CXS and LG must have done something, which means that that they prolly knew more about the organization and stuff. Lu Guang is such a mystery.
Sth else just crossed my mind: if he really calculated that move, he must have known about the beef between Vein and WQ - that they would fight. Perhaps this is just a knowledge carried from previous timelines, though.

And I wonder what had happened in the original timeline. Exactly what change of the past the main trio had made. It also involved a fire, iirc the starting scenes of BA. I wonder if even that was related to the same Bahati fire of BA, or something else. But CXS shouldn't have gotten more involved in the original timeline, right? Since he made the promise with his mom. Unless sth happened to this mom? Assuming that the trio made some changes to say, prevent the Bahati fire, then, the fact that Vein says they shouldn't have messed with the past implies that Vein likely was involved in the fire incident. However, then he'd know the cause and that would contradict his reactions in the BA. Which means, whatever change the trio had made to the past in the original timeline wasn't related to the Bahati fire, at least not directly. But sth to note that might go against this theory is that in the time studio fight scene, there are moments (if not the entire time) that Vein's eyes are not shown. So was that someone else possessing Vein?

And sth I thought about for the very first time: LG says, "if there's...an unchangeable point [before the death node]...no need to fear the deviation, just let it happen more completely" while talking to vein about the butterfly effect. So, he considers this event of vein's interaction with WQ to be an important node that led to the death node. 1) some thoughts as to what I should make of this are coming to my mind but I haven't yet completely thought about, haha, and 2) assuming that in the original timeline, there was no delay in Vein walking into WQ's office, and therefore, who Vein met was CXS's mom only, not WQ herself (therefore the event not happening "completely"), then, Vein should've walked away with the diary => this diary was important in some way as a cause of CXS's death? (perhaps related to the 'change' the trio had brought in the original timeline?)

-----------------------------

Just to make a note of what the characters seem to be after in BA:

- CXS's mom: prevent CXS's dad's death
- WQ: cause of the fire; has good relations with CXS's mom
- Vein: the diary (and presumably, the cause of the fire); seems to be in bad terms with WQ, and the two may have opposite goals given that WQ tried to protect the diary that Vein fights for; interestingly, when LG tells him that he's thinking of changing a destined ending completely, instead of wondering that LG could have some powers, Vein instead simply says that LG might be the one in need of therapy, which just seemed quite odd, because it's hard to believe that Vein is unaware of the existence of powers.
- LX: about Cheng Weimin (and let's assume also the cause of the fire); he seems to be helping Vein, but also might have had some connections with WQ in the past; if the 'deal' thing is correct, then LX wasn't interested in the diary? (since WQ walked away with it) But then what's his connection with Vein? Interesting.
- XF: no apparent goals, but was prolly a student of Bahati; and seems to be - to an extent - in the loop with LX and Vein as far as the fire is concerned, but otherwise prolly unaware of the others' goals

I think we can also assume, btw, that the diary doesn't contain (much?) information about the fire, otherwise WQ would prolly have figured things out by now. (this could also explain LX's possible lack of interest in the diary itself.) So, 1) the diary contains top-secret, important info related to the organization?, and 2) Vein's not really interested in the fire? Perhaps he's just a mafia boss that acts on behalf/on order of the organization? (though kinda difficult to see him being bossed around)

And finally, can someone please remind me if the date on LX's phone while he's playing was an error? (it says 2024) Btw, his game of tetris is ..interesting.

----------------------------

Separately, let's do a fun game of what you think LG's (and therefore Vein's) answer to the forest fire problem prolly was? Also, what/who do _you_ think the cause of this fire was? :)

-----------------------------

theory update edit: I've been thinking about how much LG might know. So let's assume the following first:

  • LG strongly believes that the diary, or rather, Vein in possession of the diary, is THE important node/cause of CXS's death node. (as I've explained above why he'd think that) (and I still think that the change trio had made to the past in the original timeline is somehow connected to the diary)
  • LG is also aware of the beef between WQ and Vein (possibly from previous timelines; for eg. in the previous timeline, Vein might have harmed WQ and gone off with the diary).
  • LG believes that LX isn't interested in the diary (possibly a statistical implication based on the previous timelines, haha) Then this means:
  1. This is why LG considers Vein the only problem. Note how only Vein has ever given him a nightmare (based on what we've been shown).
  2. LG didn't actually intend for Vein to die. Though, I have to say this is quite tricky subject, based on his reactions in the BA (and the new trailer where he's obviously freaking out after finding out that Vein is alive - "freaking out" is an understatement, though :( .). But, since LG considers the diary to be the issue, if this in this timeline, LG ensures that Vein doesn't walk off with the diary (and point to note: this time, WQ, and therefore, possibly CXS's mom, is in possession of the diary, such that the diary is safe, let's say). So this time, the trio wouldn't have to change the past and therefore no reason for Vein to come attack them ensuring CXS's safety. And if so, then LG doesn't have to ensure that Vein is dead, just that Vein isn't in possession of the diary. There is an uncertainty, ofc, especially given how much uncertainties trouble LG in BA, I'm not very sure of this argument. However, I think we can also assume that LG is a strong believer of 'nodes', no matter the fluctuations that happen otherwise. So I think it's still plausible to say that LG didn't - necessarily, at least - mean for Vein to die.

Sth to note: my theory is based on the assumption that LG is aware that CXS's mom is possessing WQ in that moment, and that CXS's mom has time-travel powers. So then why would LG try to mess up SYY's plan of saving CXS's dad? Perhaps he already knows that that would be fruitless/unnecessary? So that would mean 1) CXS's dad is alive and well, or 2) CXS's dad can never be saved, for some reason, or 3) LG weighed his options and simply chose to save CXS over his dad. And for some reason, I do think LG is familiar with Cheng Weimin and just things related to him. So that another thing about LG.

Also, given these things, I'm afraid LG is about to find out that Vein (in possession of the diary) wasn't the only issue, and he's going to be, as we know, devastated. So let's be prepared :(

  1. If LG did mean for Vein to die, then that would mean, like I mentioned previously, he not only knew that WQ and Vein were on opposing sides (and btw, my theory also implies that LG knew that WQ was in possession of the diary. Like, how??), but also that WQ had whatever power she had, and possibly about the 'deal' between WQ and LX, which would also mean that LG knows about LX's power. Huh. Crazy.

Been a long post, Ig. Hope things make sense, and let me know what you think :)

Re-watching and noticed this in S1 Ep1

Remember that one of the first scenes where QL comes in and mocks CXS for lazying around? It was like the very first scene, and CXS goes, "If you want to drive me away, I'll hang myself here, and your father will never get a new tenant!". I've begun re-watching after a very long time, and this line gave me a jump scare. It was so out of the blue. Now, sure, it could have been just a foreshadowing of what they've already revealed later (also supported by the camera's focus being only on LG - I love and appreciate LC's storytelling, and therefore really admire it as a piece of art; thanks Haoling <3 ), and we also know, I think, that CXS loves to joke around. However, it got me thinking whether there's more to it. I've been replaying the line in my mind, and I feel that, to joke about your own death, and to joke about _killing yourself_ - they just hit differently to me. I have a premonition about that line. What do you guys think?

A couple things I noticed:

  1. CXS's eyes turn yellow/gold _before_ diving in the very first scene (before the OP; after the OP, for this same moment, they don't show us CXS's eyes at all, rather that LG closes his own such that he couldn't have noticed the change in CXS's eyes - although, I don't think anyone can actually see the color change of his eyes, right? Like, that's only for us, right?). Was that an error or is something else hinted? - Although, I don't see the point of the latter atp.
  2. In the ED, for some reason, they've repeatedly shown the clock with time: ~6:20. Any ideas what this could be about?

A couple other things:

  1. That scene in which CXS (as Emma) returns from work, LG first comforts CXS, but then, he is - what felt like intentionally - shown to turn around and they then facing opposite sides...Idk..it's bugged me every time I've watched it. Any thoughts?
  2. The cover of the book LG's reading (during the mission) just stood out a bit to me. Any ideas on the symbolism of that art?

----------

Since Idk if I'll write a post again, I'll take this opportunity to say: the character Emma hits so hard. Not just because of her >!death!<, but because of how she _lived_. And her parents- her loving, hardworking, innocent parents. Breaks my heart. Reminds me of my own parents. Reminds me that there might be countless breathing Emmas in our world. To think that it isn't just a story, but a reflection of the sad reality of our world..

And that soundtrack during Emma's scene in the end. There's sth about it..to a good extent, S1 itself tbh...quiet, calming, modern, and filled with sadness.

Just felt like sharing this. Love LC for many more reasons, ofc :)
