If you had told 11-year old me…

In 2001, if you told me that I would get to see the Seahawks win not one, but TWO Super Bowls in the next 25 years, I would not have believed you.

Also, after the Mariners won 116 games and lost the ALCS, if you told me we’d have to wait 21 years to see them make the playoffs again, and 24 years to see them win the division again, I would not have believed you.

If you had told me that the summer I was going to graduate high school, the Sonics would be stolen from us, moved to Oklahoma??? and we would have to watch multiple MVPs play for that franchise while we continue to be without a team, I would not have believed you.

Moral of the story? When I was 11, the Seahawks were by far the team I was least confident in of my three die-hard fandoms. Now? Thank God for the Seahawks.

Do you think Cal is closer to the player we saw last year or the player we’ve seen this year?

Obviously Cal had a record-breaking season last year and it was never realistic to replicate that. However, this year has been a major disappointment and Cal has struggled with injuries in addition to abysmal hitting. I know the answer likely lies somewhere between the two seasons but I’m hopeful that this year is more of the fluke than last year.

Safe, affordable, (somewhat) quiet places to live for grad student?

Hello,

I have been searching online for places to live (somewhat) near campus. Willing to go beyond U-district if necessary. All of the apartments owned by Trip a Link all have terrible reviews and I can’t do Greek Row area because I am a very light sleeper and would be up all night with the constant noise.

I am a grad student in my 30’s, not at all a partier I just need somewhere with some peace and privacy where I can study and rest. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to comment or DM.

Thank you.

Every time LeBron has changed teams, he’s planned a specific major roster move

In 2010 with The Decision going to Miami, he wasn’t going to go alone, as he famously brought Chris Bosh with him to join a big three. That was planned years in advance.

In 2014 when he went back to Cleveland, he wasn’t going alone. He met with Dan Gilbert and told him that he needs to trade Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love, so that they could once again form a Big Three with Kyrie.

In 2018 when he went to the Lakers, this time he did come alone, but not for long. The plan was clearly not to play more than a few months with all those Baby Lakers. By the trade deadline, Klutch client Anthony Davis had demanded a trade and tried to steer his way to the Lakers. It did not work out that season and the Baby Lakers stayed longer than planned, but by June AD was in fact traded to LA (and they unsuccessfully tried to land Kawhi as well to form yet another Big 3).

So my point in all this is that I would be shocked if LeBron doesn’t already know where he’s going and have a plan for a major roster move that he (or Rich Paul) have instructed them to make before LeBron signs.

Lakers first major offer tomorrow will likely be to a RFA: Kessler, Watson, or Duren. Which do you think?

Since the Lakers three major targets are all restricted free agents, they can only make an initial offer to one and then will have to wait 48 hours to see if their team matches. This is very risky because not only could they match after 48 hours, causing the Lakers to miss out on other free agents, but the other two could also get an offer sheet from a different team. The Lakers essentially have to choose one and go all in. How do you see this playing out?

The three greatest rappers of all time (no order): Kendrick Lamar, Nas, and Jay-Z

I would have Pac and Big up there as well but unfortunately their careers were cut too short. But Dot, Nas, and Hov are all generational greats and their music is transcendent like no one else.

Spurs got a bunch of DAWGS! That’s what we need!

The Spurs are a young team but one thing that’s apparent is they are not afraid of the Thunder. We have to get rid of guys like Ayton and LaRavia who are not useful in competitive playoff environments. I really believe that Peyton Watson (when healthy) is a dawg and he would be a great addition to our rotation.
