This question has been stuck in my mind for a while, there is something I kind of despise in this country when it comes to sports leagues in this country

The fact that sports teams here are based on sponsors instead of cities (Capital1, Barangay Ginebra, etc.).

The main reason why I'm not a fan of this is the fact that it makes fans feel like bandwagons, like with cities you can have loyalty to a team as a certain team will either be within the vicinity of where you live, or you live in that city, whereas with sponsors, it's either your favourite player plays there, or you like the brand (i.e. I like drinking milk, so I'll support Alaska), and what happens if your favourite team disappear: Crispa, Toyota, Añejo, Gordon's, Air21, etc., We've become a bandwagoning sports country

Now the question, would these leagues be more successful if they have city names in their team names? They can still keep sponsors ala Euroleague, but there needs to be a city name in their team name.

Would fans have a better connection or loyalty with their teams if they have a team from Manila or Cebu?

Could we have a stronger and more popular league?
