WiFi 7 + AiMesh not a good combination

I run 2 Asus routers in AiMesh mode, both are high end Asus routers BE88U routers. One router is in the living room and one is in the office. I run two separate networks, one is general purpose wifi with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands enabled and the other one is an IoT network with just the 2.4GHz band.

With the above setup and with WiFi7 mode enabled, I kept running into multiple issues:

  1. Devices connected to the IoT network kept dropping the connection and would not be online/ available to use and the connectivity was erratic. Suddenly would be unable to use the robot vacuum cleaner or access the baby cameras

  2. Devices connected to the node in the office would always default to a 2.4GHz band, including desktop computers and laptops sitting literally a few meters away from the router in the office in the same room. (This would happen when they are connected to the main network, they were never connected to the IoT one)

  3. Some devices would choose the node significantly further away. So sometimes a computer in the office would connect to the node in the living room which is on the opposite part of the house and on top of that would connect to 5GHz band with a poor signal, even though the office node was just a few meters away.

  4. Binding a computer to the office node would alway result in the computer being permanently stuck on the 2.4GHz band which would cap the speed significantly

It was frustrating for a long time, especially when the garage door opener (connected to the IoT network) would loose connection at the worst possible time. Out of desperation, I tried turning off the wifi7 option on the main network and voila - all the problems magically disappeared. The office computers now always connect to the office node even without manually binding them, IoT devices stopped loosing their connection and the connection is now super stable. Devices will default to a 5GHz band and only switch to 2.4GHz if they are further away from the nearest node.

I didn't loose on much by switching the wifi7 off as very few devices we have in the home are wifi7 capable, and as long as everything works properly those devices are getting gigabit speed anyway so no need for wifi7.

The reason I am writing this post is in hopes it shows up in the google search for other people who will undoubtably run into the same issues I have. I was suprised that wifi7 enabled would cause so many things to break and not work properly.

WiFi7 enabled with AiMesh on ASUS routers is not a good combination and does not work as intended and will cause severe IoT network issues.

It may be my fault due to expectations, but I feel the loot in the new map is quite underwhelming! Even hitting up high value loot areas everything seems to be quite spaced out and not finding any loot different or more valuable than I would I say reinforced reception in blue gate or space travel in buried city or departure building in space port. I felt that with the new map being the highest difficulty map in the game the loot may be a bit more higher tier and was maybe hoping for a higher chance of bp drops.

Do you go to Riven Tides for fighting mainly large ammounts of flying arc do you go there for the loot? If you go there for the loot, what are your main loot spots? Do you focus on the puzzle rooms, or maybe hotel? I have no idea where the good loot for the hotel is, and haven't found a single hotel room key yet.

Please enlighten me on how to do loot runs in the new map, as for now all do there is fight ARC.
