r/ArcRaiders

Y’all are either lying or making stuff up about your match.

I die to rats occasionally yes. Maybe 1 out of 50+ raids.

I don’t get mad about it because the 49 raids were a huge net positive.

Every time I open Reddit it’s a rant about getting ratted or matchmaking is broken. Can we please put a ban on this?

Embark says 3 things that most people glance over and if these 3 things are true then you know who’s lying.

  1. Matching making track a history of behavior. So who you play with tend to play similar to you.

  2. There are always mix lobbies. Even in the friendliest raid the freedom of another raider shooting you is always there. I’ve seen people so tempted to clean me out when I’m looting arc parts but because I know the temptation I spark up a friendly conversation.

  3. New update doesn’t reset ABMM their latest post talk about how new update means smaller player pool. Other people haven’t updated their game yet.

So with these 3 things in mind. If you’re dying constantly to rats it says a lot more about how you play than matchmaking itself.

Banned on console. Thought it was for telling someone to eat a dick, but...

it wasn't.

This happened Monday May 18th. In the middle of a match, just being chased by Rocketeer on Blue Gate. Usually in PvE queues. In the middle of fighting the Rocketeer I get a pop-up that says something along the lines of "You account has been blocked. For more info: Scan QR Code". When I scan the QR code, it just brings up the support page.

I for sure thought this was some sort of mistake. Maybe a glitch. When I tried to log back in, it says the servers can't be reached. I thought maybe the servers went down or something. When I reboot the game, I get an error message that says "Online Services are currently unavailable." I thought maybe it was because I told a raider to eat a bag of dicks for acting friendly and then killing me earlier in the day. I created a support ticket as technical issue and didn't receive a response. I then created another support ticket for a ban appeal, thinking it would say "You said derogatory things to another player". I get a reply today saying that the ban is confirmed for cheating. I'm on PS5. I thought this was some sort of mistake. I ended up looking online how one would cheat on console. I play on console specifically because PC cheaters are annoying AF in online games like this. I didn't know you could get these peripherals for console that allow you to play with all kinds of advantages or whatever. I'm poor, definitely not buying those things even if I could play good with a KB and Mouse.

Basically, how do you appeal an appeal? This seems a bit wild

EDIT I appreciate the positive messages and attempts to help. I also appreciate the criticism. I get it. Cheaters gonna cheat. There's no way of me being able to convince anyone that I wasn't cheating. I salute you for completely following your corporate overlords decisions with no way of appealing without some AI chat bot.

Ultimately, once this temporary ban is lifted, I just need to know what the heck to look out for or adjust? I don't know. Then I start playing again and get another ban that's permanent. That's not cool at all. I'd be willing to bet there's something with wrong their brand new anti-cheat denuvo, or whatever.

The Seed economy...

For a lot of us, this is likely a "duh", but it took me a long time to realize this "one simple trick" (or two).

  • The base commodities are seeds, chems, rubber, metal, plastic, and fabric.
  • All these stack in sets of 50. Seeds are in 100.
  • You can trade, 1 for 1, a seed for any of the other base commodities w/ Celeste. You can do so infinitely.
  • You can essentially hold the same value/utility in your stash for half the space.

I save a lot of space in my inventory as well as trying to remember what I may need topside in terms of the base materials if I just gather seeds. I'm sitting on ~700+ seeds right now without even thinking about it much.

As always, PAYL, but for many of us this is a more efficient way to do things.

How does this even happen…

Honestly not even mad, but there really should be a way to send a ticket and get your gear back if you die to stupid stuff like this, like… what? lol

The Bettina after the buffs with attachments feels like a completely different gun

Anybody else notice the arc becoming increasingly more dangerous ?

They also stack on top of eachother more now. It’s rare you encounter a single arc. I’m not complaining at all though. I love it actually

The matchmaking update is great, but history for solo and squad rounds needs to be seperated.

This is anecdotal of course, so take this with a grain of salt. TL;DR at the bottom.

Since launch I've played "cautiously friendly" in solos and PvP in duos and trios.

In solos, I always shoot back if shot, shoot first if people act weird, KOS when someone breaches my keyroom, or tries taking my big arc loot without permission. I'm always on prox and help others, giving away arc loot, especially in matriach, queen and close scrutiny. I defib people, heal others, watch people's back, etc. Generally friendly, but definitely not a pacifist.

In squads, I pretty much always KOS, but still leave people alone if they're on prox and dont want the heat, I'll even protect squads going after the matriarch, queen or assessors, so they can focus on the arc while my squad focuses on other raiders. Depending on how much PvP we would run into, my squad lobbies would range from a mix of players, to 100% PvP oriented.

I never had trouble going from super heavy PvP squads to mostly friendly or carebear solo lobbies. Sometimes after a bunch of PvP in squads I would have to surrender a handful of times to get into PvE focused solos. I've never used this for easy kills in friendlier lobbies.

2 days ago, I ran several PvP heavy duos and trios raids. Yesterday I had more free time than usual, and was able to run quite a few solo rounds during the day, but my solo lobbies were the most aggressive solo lobbies I've ever been in.

It seemed like I was stuck in full PvP bloodbath solo lobbies. I dont mean "some PvP" I mean, nobody on prox, everyone KOS, mostly freekits and even though I built a kit each raid, I was spawning in late most raids. On top of that, I had 2 raids where I selected solos but ran into a trio squad somehow? I double checked and am 100% sure I didnt select "solo vs squads" matchmaking and I know they were squads because both raids, I downed 1 or 2 of them and watched them get picked up without a defib while I got knocked. It took a bunch of raids to get into mixed lobbies and once I did, I was running into more fake friendlies and hatch and extract campers than ever. Even if I didnt run into PvP, I could hear it going on and was finding so many bodies, at least 6 each raid.

It was to the point that I think I'm banished from carebear solos now lol.

I prefer to play friendlier in solos, and PvP is for squads. The general vibe that I get is that is how alot of people like to play.

I took the survey, answered everything and added a note at the end about the big question, I'm just sharing this to ask;

Has anyone else has had a similar expereince over the past couple days? How have your matches been lately?

TL;DR:

My preferred playstyle is friendly in solos and PvP squads. The matchmaking update seems to have made my preferred playstyle difficult to do. I'm loading in late more often with a kit and have ran into full squads in solo lobbies.

Here is the Survey link if you haven't taken it yet. Please make sure you guys respond to the survey and answer honestly, Embark is asking for and needs the feedback.

Alright I'm just gonna say it. Those pillows look plenty comfortable for a rooster.

Possibly the worst thing to happen

So basically, 4 mins left in the game, and get to the last extraction.

I hit the button, and my foot hits the power brick, which turns off my PC. I quickly reboot, hoping to get a reconnect before it expires.

Boom, I get the clutch reconnect....or do I?

Lost my Anvil 4, Hullcrack 4 (with kenitic), 3 looted bobcat 2's from town hall, 2 deadlines and 2 wolfpacks and all my ammo\quick use

I was mad at first, but the timing was just impeccable.

Does anyone else's extraction dialogue say all the lines one right after another?

I've asked other people in raids if they heard it, and weirdly they said no.

When I push the extract button, I get the "we see you, we're sending the elevator" audio, immediately followed by, "stand by, elevator is almost there", immediately followed by "the doors are open, return to speranza" with no delay between them. The audio is no longer synced to the events they describe (elevator almost there, doors actually opening) so it just ALL happens before the elevator/train even arrives.

I'm reporting it, but curious if other people are actually getting it. It's really rough because I used to be able to sync certain actions to the timing of extracting and now I can't do that by ear.

I hope beachcombing is permanent and not just event exclusive.

It would be cool if every map had this relaxing event that could earn you exclusive trinkets.
Burried city has the ducks
Riven tides has the boats
So what could the other maps have?

Flanking Augment is probably my favorite augment right now

I used it before a bit but light shield is useless unless it's the first day of the wipe imo.

But now it's so good. I run Anvil often and passive is great, medium shield is perfect balance, 20 looting slots is amazing for combat augment, 2 safe pockets is perfect for snaphook and a key, 5 quick use slots is enough.

Even if i run Renegade & Venator combo it's still useful.

3 deployable slots is nice as well, i can use walls, ziplies and mines or find them in raid to use.

60kg is not bad, especially with skill tree buffs.

Overall it's just a great augment now.
