Noob here, can I build derby/oxfords from a sneaker last?

Hi everyone, complete beginner here so I’m sorry if this is a dumb question. I’m based in the US and there aren’t many last suppliers here.

In an effort to avoid tariffs and extra shipping fees, I’ve been trying to source my first last in the US which leaves me with very limited options.

I came across the SNF-1 last on the shoemakers academy website. This is technically listed as a sneaker last, but I’m wondering if I can use it to build derby or oxford shoes?

I do have a 3d printer which seems like an alternative option, but feel like jumping right into last design for my first project while trying to learn shoemaking in general may be a little much.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Just wanted to share my current experience with you all

I'm currently in the market for a daily mid-size SUV. I'm coming from a FWD sedan and need something tougher for the rough northeast winters. My list consisted of the following: Toyota Land Cruiser/4Runner, Honda Passport TSE, Ford Bronco (OBX/BL)

The LC/4Runner while nice vehicles, did not feel worth paying the Toyota premium for. I experienced gear hunting issues with both. The LC had noticeable body roll, the 4Runner was a bit more nimble. The hybrid provides nice power up front, but you lose a lot of top end at highway speeds. I also don't like the idea of losing vertical trunk space with the hybrid battery in the back.

The Passport is really impressive and at a similar price to the Broncos I was looking at. I can appreciate what Honda is doing here, it is a really nice package for the price. Probably the most well-rounded. I did however experience similar jerky gear hunting even with the NA V6. It also lacked some power in comparison to the LC/4Runner. If I wasn't so particular, this would be an easy "safe" pick for me.

Which leads me to the Bronco. We first tried the BL non SAS. The ride was the roughest out of all of the above, even with the non SAS package (to be expected).

We then took out an OBX non SAS and holy crap, this thing put a giant smile on my face. Not only did it handle THE BEST out of the above, the power it has with the 2.7 V6 is incredible. The Bronco OBX was the most pleasant surprise out of everything I've driven so far. It was even smoother than the 4Runner Limited.

We are still undecided at this point, but I just wanted to share how unexpected that was to me. Both Broncos we drove had the Carbonized Gray MIC hard tops. We want to try an OBX with the hard painted top to see if there's a noticeable difference in cabin noise. I also want to try an OBX SAS for lols, although I think it'll drive similar to the BL non SAS.

Anyways, for those that made it this far thanks for reading! I'll update this thread once we make a final decision :)

Toyota owners that made the switch, any regrets?

Hi all, I currently own a 2019 Toyota Camry and I've been looking to upgrade to a mid-size SUV for awhile. I've narrowed my choices down to the current model year 4Runner and Bronco.

I admittedly plan to do little to no off-roading and this will be my daily driver. The full time 4wd is enticing to me, and a very important feature as I live in an area that can have very harsh winters. Most daily driving will be on paved back roads and highways.

I think the logical side of me says to go for the 4Runner, I've been loyal to the brand for over a decade now with no issues, but the Bronco has been really darn tempting. Between Ford's incentives and what comes in a standard Bronco package makes me not want to pay the Toyota premium for arguably less features.

Has anyone here cross shopped the current gen 4Runner and Bronco? Any previous Toyota owners here in general? Any regrets with your purchase? Obviously I know answers may be biased here, but I appreciate your honesty :)

Other vehicles I've test driven but weren't a fan of was the Passport and Land Cruiser.

[WTS] [US-FL] [H] Aroma Audio Fei Wan [W] PayPal / Local Cash

Parting ways with an Aroma Audio Fei Wan in mint condition. I picked these up recently and they are a phenomenal fun/energetic set.

Trades I'm interested in at this time:

[WTS] [US-FL] [H] Mod House Tungsten SS V2 [W] PayPal / Local cash

Parting ways with my Tungsten, which remains one of my favorite headphones to this day. Having owned both versions, the V2 makes some very nice QOL updates (better build quality and huge efficiency improvements) without sacrificing the amazing sound of the V1.

This is the single sided version, which has a slightly warmer sound out of the box compared to the double sided version. Unfortunately due to an upcoming move to the northeast and new home expenses, I can't justify keeping them.

This set is in excellent, like new condition and has been kept on a headphone stand in a smoke-free household. It comes with all original packaging/accessories as well as some extra goodies, see full list below:

- Stock grills (orange)
- 2 sets of 3D printed hex grills (purple - installed/black - spare)
- Viking weave cable - 4 pin XLR
- 2 sets of 3D printed bass spacers (v8/v9 versions)
- Owners card and pelican case

Looking for $1675 net to me, I'm not interested in any trades at this time. My price includes fully insured shipping CONUS within 24 hours of purchase. Skip the 9+ month wait time and feel free to reach out with any questions!
