Struggling to manual cruiser

I’ve started racing again, but this time on a 24” cruiser after a long break. I could manual a 20” before, not great, but I knew the technique and pop.

But on a cruiser, I’m trying to learn to manual and I just cannot get the front wheel up, the drop your butt down and back “pop” does nothing for me on a cruiser compared to 20”.

Am I missing something obvious?

Starting racing after. long time - advice please

Hi all, I'll keep it quick.

I haven't raced for 35 years, but still have a bmx I mess about on. I'm getting a bit older now and feel like I want to race again, or at least try to and see what happens.

Feels more sensible to try cruisers at this point, but literally everything has changed, so I'm lost. To be honest I'm wondering if I'm just kidding myself, but the itch is still there.

Any advice on what racing is like these days or if this is just a daft idea would be much appreciated.
