Credit Card Fraud

Hi! I noticed only today that my credit card had seen through two purchases for $200+ yesterday, and I was wondering how likely would my dispute be accepted.

I don't know how in the world I didn't notice. Had I not thought to pay for my pending purchases (one from Amazon and another an in-app), I would've probably just not have known. Working 8 hours in fast-food does that to you I guess.

The fraud was an online purchase in pesos to some website I've never heard of, but some googling described it as a fashion store in Columbia. I'm completely baffled at how this happened in the first place, because I don't think I've ever clicked any random email. Hacking, perhaps? My phone did receive Scotia Bank's Fraud Alert, but I have this terrible habit of having my phone silenced. Not having it on DND makes me anxious because of all the notifications from family group chats.

Struggling New Hire at Tims

Hi! I'm a new hire at Tim Hortons and just finished my second week, and my most recent shift was really brutal. I've made several mistakes: grabbing the wrong donut, missing out 1 timbit, messing up when taking orders (twice), fumbling with making drinks (three times). It's like when I screw up an order, I try really hard not to make that mistake and end up fumbling on something else and it's a landslide from there. I think I was overwhelmed, and I didn't notice it. What's worse is that one of my supervisors haven't been happy with me today since she got yelled at by a customer due to my mistake. I know because she smiled at everyone but me, and I feel extremely guilty.

I had a great shift just yesterday, happy co-workers means I was just happy I wasn't making someone else's life more miserable; I only fumbled once. Today... today was a disaster.

First question: I don't want to get in the way of my co-workers by constantly asking questions, but I constantly worry about getting orders wrong. What's the quickest way to learn the POS layout and what customisations a customer can make to their order?

Second question: Are supervisors also trainers? I think I've been mostly been passed around by them and other co-workers on beverages builds, restocking, etc. Most of the times it gets really busy though and today in particular, I was thrown onto cash register duty for 15 minutes and well... it didn't go well.

EDIT: I really appreciate all the advice I've gotten back and will do my best to take them to heart. Thank you very much for taking the time to respond!

Got sick during my first week of training.

Hi! Throwaway account because my other one is a sort of "small city, someone might find me". This is probably a really trivial problem but I can't help but wonder if I could have handled it better or if I could've done anything at all. I don't really have anyone I'm comfortable with asking without feeling patronised, and I did ask my brother but he brushed me off saying it was a "me problem" and... fair enough.

I'm a 20 year old who recently got their first job in a cafe and fast-food chain. Unlucky for me, my immune system decided to tap out on my first week of training and I got sick. I informed my manager a day prior that I wouldn't be able to attend my next two shifts and he got back to me today saying that there were no trainers available and that he's not sure how to go about it but he'll figure something out. I was also told that I was the first person who got sick during my first week-- and I apologized for that. (Not that I WANTED to be bedridden either, sore throat is terrible when it comes with hyper salivation)

I did watch the training videos and all outside of work hours, bought work shoes and a pair of slacks since the uniform they gave were still two sizes too big for me. I just find it an incredible waste of effort if I end up not being able to work there at all.

I feel like I did all I could, but should I start prepping to find a new job with the mindset I might lose this one? Is it too early to start thinking about it? I get that it's just my first job but I needed the experience. I've been job hunting for two months and finally landed this one, and I've already messed up.
