Does Imodium ever cause terrible side effects?

I have IBS-M but mostly D, and I get symptoms in the morning. (At worst, it's about 5-6 stool and I have to go 3 times.)This normally works out okay because I work from home. However, I have jury duty next week and am required to report in at 8:45 am. I bought some Imodium and plan to take it for the first time on that morning.

Is there anything I should know about possible side effects? There's no chance it would make it worse, right?

Really disliking this season

  1. The romance drama. Enough already. This is not love island.

And you really expect me to believe that the captain would be giving advice and hugs? I can just see Lee going, "I'm not here to give you advice about your stupid personal choices. Get your head out of your ass and get to work."

  1. The guest intros. Who cares? Learning that this guy is gardener to the stars or whatever has nothing to do with anything. I want to see them walking onto the dock and the crew going, "These guests look like they're going to be tough to please" and us wondering about them, but knowing only as much as the crew knows.

  2. Ben. He was my favorite, but he's behind all the stupid drama this season. I'm not one for age discrimination, but he's too old to be acting this way. Between his favoritism toward Ellie and his petty creation of issues with Daisy and his unwillingness to grow up with regards to women, I've had enough of him. He used to be fun loving and charming. Now he's just a sad sack.

"Automatic updates" not automatic

There I was, working away on an article, when Word freezes. Sure enough, my automatic updates hadn't updated. I had no choice but to restart my computer to get things to unfreeze.

I downloaded the updates. Then, when I changed the file, NOTHING from today had saved, even though I had saved the file every couple of minutes. F you, MS Word. Just, f you.

Jury duty food

Hi, I have a jury summons for later this month in Newark. The orientation said you can bring your own food, but how realistic is that? There's no fridge, right, so I can't just take lunch. I ask because I have IBS and a lot of food sensitivities. Also, because I will be losing income (I work by the hour), I'd rather not pay a lot (I see a wrap at Hobby's Deli is around $25.)

Anyone have experience with bringing their own lunch?

▲ 30 r/Fire

I keep seeing posts where people say they still need to worry about paying for college but they don't mention having invested in a 529. Is there a reason people don't do this? I thought a 529 was tax advantaged. Is it more lucrative to just keep the investments elsewhere and draw from those?

I don't even have kids, but I'm just curious.

ETA: I'm talking about people who plan to FIRE. I understand that a lot of people have little or no savings to start a 529.
