Help! Replaced the carburetor... Can't get the choke linkage back in so that it works. Are we on the right track?

Ok reddit- help a girl out! I'm in Maine for just a few days, and would like to do some quick sightseeing trips in the evenings. I'm hoping to spend some time at Acadia at the end of the week, but is there anything you'd recommend around this area that I could squeeze in? I love wildlife and hiking, but am not prepared for anything major. Tomorrow is Waterville, Skowhegan, and Dexter. Thank you for any suggestions!!!
