I have my surgery on September 1st (WOOO) and was informed I could buy a binder but would just be given an ace bandage my bf can help me take on n off as needed. I also have a mastectomy pillow someone here graciously gifted me so I’ll have some support there too thankfully.

I just see a lot of u mentioning a vest or binder ( ⚆ _ ⚆ ) am I gonna be ok with just the ace bandage? (No nip route and yes ill have tube drain thingies)

I only have $30 to my name and thats for bills. I cannot be affording an expensive binder rn especially because I am plus size so any cheap standard size binder likely won’t work out.

Just double checking with u guys if ace bandages is a bad thing 🥹 I wonder if I should put some kinda shirt under it if the ace fabric irritates my skin? idk.

I had to dig through goodwill and thankfully found a singular big enough sized button up shirt I’ll have to wear any time I leave my apartment but I haaaate the fabric 😩 bout to cut my favorite at home shirts in half and just safety pin it together if needed idk LOL

I am just Nonbinary so not technically FTM but I have Top surgery coming up September 1st and my hairs already really short cuz I got it cut at Supercuts maybe a few months ago? I can’t remember. I just need it touched up again cuz I don’t wanna maintain it while recovering. But I am struggling for cash rn so I am trying to figure out all the stuff I need to save up for.

Just curious the cheapest places I can get it trimmed up 🥹 sorry if this is a dumb question. Ive heard supercuts can also do trims so I’ll check into that too.

Is everyone here either really rich or diabetic?

My insurance covers my surgery thankfully.

⭐️I heard I can use one of my plethora of plushies for the seatbelt.

⭐️I don’t have a sewing machine so I figured I could trrrrry to figure out how to cut up old blankets, cut the ends into strips and tie them together with fluff inside from extra pillows i own, to make a poor man’s mastectomy pillow.

⭐️Im kinda SOL on a secondary chest binder thing (ive heard I need a second version of the one a hospital may give me, but theres no way I can afford that so I’ll just throw the hospital one in the wash fast and raw dog it till it’s dry.)

⭐️I may have a mesh bag or an old reusable bag I can poke holes in for when I shower with the drains.

⭐️uhhhh button up shirt is gonna be hard cuz I am plus size 🥲 I’ll check good will cuz I have a $40 gift card. Hopefully it will have pockets for the drains. Or I heard I could clip???? them??? to the shirt???? or maybe I can cut an old comfy shirt in half? Does it need to button up if I don’t go anywhere?

I technically have been in a poly relationship with my current partner, but thankfully the third person eventually exited and found his own partner, and honestly all their relationship was was just constant sex. No truly caring for one another. I wont lie, it never gets easier Knowing my partner is poly and still fantasizes about that lifestyle but its been since 2018 we’ve been together and i’ve always let him know that if me being monogamous is not enough for him, he absolutely can seek a different relationship but he continues to choose me (just putting that in there in case poly people cry that i’m stifling him. He is free to leave any time. He doesn’t need me if he NEEDS to sleep around so badly.)

But I still feel broken and like I’m not enough. I feel inadvertently compared to his ex. Like something is wrong with me and my desire to want someone to love or want intimacy with just me. Sharing that with anyone else diminishes the gravity of that connection, imo.

But whenever I see posts from this sub, I finally feel at home. Comforted and not judged. Like I am normal. And I just really wanted to thank you guys for that. 🤍💙💛
