Universitaly pre-enrollment timeline for University of Bologna?

Hi! I submitted my pre-enrollment on Universitaly and I would like to know approximately how long it usually takes for the pre-enrollment to be accepted, or when they usually send the final pre-enrollment document needed for the visa application.

University of Bologna informed me that I was admitted on May 13, so I’m currently waiting for the Universitaly validation process

admission decision from University of Duisburg-Essen for Winter 2026/27?

I applied for the MA Development and Governance program and my application is still under review. I wanted to know if anyone has already received an admission letter (for this program or in general from UDE).

Would appreciate any updates or timelines

Can I enter the Schengen Area before my German student visa start date? (Mexico passport)

Hi everyone,

I’m from Mexico, so I can enter the Schengen Area visa-free for up to 90 days as a tourist.

My German student visa/residence permit would probably start around September 1st, but I’m thinking about traveling to Switzerland around August 20th first for vacation before going to Germany.

Has anyone done something similar?
Is it okay to enter the Schengen Area as a tourist before the official start date of the German student visa/residence permit?

Would love to hear your experiences. Thanks! 🙏

After Uni-Assist: how long do Universities take to respond?

Hi everyone,

I applied through Uni-Assist to Leuphana University and the University of Passau, and I’ve already received confirmation that my applications have been forwarded to the universities.

I wanted to ask about your personal experiences:

How long did it take after that point for you to receive an admission or rejection decision?

any timeline examples are really helpful.

Thanks a lot! 🙏

Best banks in Germany for international students?

Hi everyone,
I’m going to Germany as an international student soon and I’m trying to decide which bank to open.

I’ll also be using a blocked account (Sperrkonto), so I need a regular German bank account where I can receive monthly payments.

My main requirements are:

  • Easy to open as a foreign student
  • Good for international students
  • Allows ATM withdrawals (cash access is important for me)
  • Preferably low or no fees
  • Works well with blocked accounts like Expatrio/Fintiba

Which bank would you recommend based on your experience? N26, Commerzbank, Sparkasse, Deutsche Bank… or any other?

Thanks a lot! 🙏

University of Konstanz

Hi! I applied to the University of Konstanz and my results are supposed to come out on June 15. Does anyone know if they usually send acceptance letters the same day the results are released, or does it take a few more days? Thank you :)
