Hi there. I started playing the game recently—about a month ago—so I apologize if I’m not yet fully up to speed on ability names or the like, but I wanted to share my thoughts on the topic of buffing Phoenix. Phoenix is one of my favorite characters and I love playing as her, but in the many matches I’ve played, I’ve realized she is actually an extremely weak character—even if she is balanced. I noticed this especially because taking her down when she’s an enemy is incredibly easy, and it’s very rare for a Phoenix to knock me out. So, here are a few things I’d add or improve without doing a complete rework; I hope this makes sense, given that—as I said—I’m not yet an expert on the specific terminology:

Increase health from 250 to 275. I mean, she’s one of the most powerful beings in Marvel; having less health than Black Widow makes no sense to me. This change would make her a bit more durable and harder to take out of the fight.

Add a force field shield—similar to The Hood’s in both function and duration—that doesn't disappear when using Shift or flying, making her much harder to hit while retreating. This would also allow her mental powers to be utilized effectively.

Change the ultimate's targeting system to match Jeff’s or Storm’s. This would make it more precise and prevent the targeting from getting completely stuck on map geometry (something that happens to me often). I’d also add a damage-over-time effect—like Devil Dinosaur’s—for anyone hit by the shockwave, making the ultimate much more effective.

Make flight faster and longer-lasting to facilitate retreats or surprise attacks.

Additionally, improve the range of her basic attacks and increase their damage—perhaps adding damage-over-time to the explosion as well—and make her self-healing more effective.

Finally, an extra feature could be a "second chance" mechanic—similar to Adam's—that allows you to respawn at the spot where you died and grants you a few seconds of invulnerability, enabling you to escape or counterattack; though perhaps that would make she a bit too OP.
