Trademark infrignment violation appeal

A product that I haven't sold for 3 years suddenly got an automated trademark infrigment violation by Amazon's AI.

One of the secondary pictures included a small logo of another brand, I have not noticed it until Amazon pointed it out. That other brand logo has nothing to do with the product.

I have removed that logo from the picture and showed it the updated listing to amazon, however amazon refuses to reinstate the listing claiming i need authorization from that brand.

What is the best course of action? I've explained the situation to amazon 3 times yet they always come back to me saying I am infringing an original brand with a generic brand.

I don't care about this listing so I don't mind having it removed, though i do mind a potential defect on my account health. However, this could accidentally happen to a successful product, in which case I'd be reluctant having it taken down for such a small thing.

How would you proceed?

VAT-registered seller (8 yrs): am I leaving money on the table sticking with DDP?

I've been selling for 8 years and have always just gone with whatever shipping method the supplier offers, usually DDP by sea. Never really questioned it.

I've tried a few freight forwarders over the years, but every time their pricing ended up worse than just going with the supplier's DDP quote, so I always ended up back there.

Now that I'm VAT registered, though, it's clicked that DDP might be costing me more than I realised since I can't reclaim the import VAT even though I'm effectively paying it through the DDP price.

A few questions for anyone who's been through this:

  1. When you're getting quotes from new suppliers, do you ask for EXW or FOB pricing? Or both?
  2. Any freight forwarders you'd actually recommend?

Should I use one brand name across all my products, or a separate brand for each unrelated product line?

I'm expanding into new ASINs that are completely unrelated to my current products (different categories, no overlap). Trying to decide between two approaches:

  1. One generic/umbrella brand name that I register across all the classes/categories I'm selling in. One identity for everything, even though the products don't relate to each other.
  2. A separate, more tailored brand name for each product line. Each one built specifically for its category, but this means paying for a new trademark registration each time (~$275 USD per class/trademark), so it adds up fast if I keep expanding into more categories.

Has anyone dealt with this? Curious what's actually worked for people running multiple unrelated product lines on Amazon. Is a shared umbrella brand worth it, or does having a dedicated name per category actually make a meaningful difference (conversion, brand trust, etc.)?

Product differentiation

I’m currently researching my next Amazon FBA product and struggling with differentiation.

It seems like the easy route is just changing colors, materials, or creating bundles, but that feels pretty weak and easy to copy. On the other hand, making real changes (like modifying the shape, adding new features, or improving functionality) is usually harder and more expensive.

Curious how others approach this, what’s your strategy for actually differentiating a product in a meaningful way?

Do you focus more on small tweaks, branding, or do you try to go for deeper product improvements despite the cost?

GTIN exemption vs UPC code

So far I've always listed all my product with a GTIN exemption because I didn't see the need to spend so much money on a code.

However, I'm planning my biggest launch yet and I'm wondering if it would be better to invest in a UPC barcode.

Changing Product Packaging on a live ASIN

I am planning to change my product packaging on a live ASIN, which means I will have to update all my pictures, which could flag Amazon that the product doesn't represent the ASIN anymore.

What I am planning to do is waiting to run out of stock before replenishing it with the new packaging inventory and then changing the images to represent the new packaging. I could create a new SKU but I think that would cause more work, because you then have to change your SKU in all your ad campaigns. Running out of stock for 2-3 days isn't that bad.

I have tested the new package images in A/B experiments and they were approved by Amazon, suggesting that they're unlikely to be rejected when the images are changed on the backend.

Has anyone experienced some issues doing it that way?

Amazon refuses to upload the correct weight and dimensions of my product

I've provided them with evidence: physical pictures of my product's actual weight and dimensions using a scale, calipers and a measurement tape. Despite that, they continuously apply the wrong weight and dimensions to my product, causing me to lose 30% of my profit margin for this ASIN.

Has anybody dealt with this?
