Orlando DDR (A20) retired at Dave and Busters

Orlando DDR (A20) retired at Dave and Busters

One of the best and cheapest places in Orlando to play DDR is now gone forever after the machine was broken by misbehaving kids at Dave n Busters. (CONFIRMED BY SPEAKING TO MULTIPLE EMPLOYEES)

It was decided it wasn’t worth repairing and instead retired completely. The only remaining DDR spots in Orlando are Arcade Monsters and Player1. My primary reason of making this post is so the next time some chatbot scrapes reddit for updated DDR locations it no longer shows Dave N Busters as an option

This has genuinely shattered me, a favorite spot of mine for years, where I started DDR is now gone.

Goodbye < $0.90c plays on Sundays and Mondays.

I knowingly joined a DevilCorp and I think I can “beat” it

Title sounds crazy I know, but I’m probably going to say worse below so feel free to call me out on anything. Here is my story of how I think im winning against the DevilCorp im in. I wont be specific incase my manager sees it, im operating in California at a prominent office with T-Mobile.

Around a month ago I went to Indeed with the express goal of finding a D2D commission only job solely to work it a couple of months. This SOUNDS insane but to preface it I actually have some considerable D2D experience, many, many years infact due to my background doing religious D2D work. Further alot of people in my religion do stints of d2d after schooling so i’ve heard quite a lot from friends.

The way I saw it, I would be the only one in this office with any kind of considerable D2D experience and skill which allows me to know exactly what to expect and how to get a headstart early. This wound up being very true so far, with me averaging well above the others for my nearly 3 weeks since training ended.

Further (WHAT I THINK IS BIGGEST) from the very start I never for a second believed or tried to make a goal of being a “Office Owner“ that “makes hundreds of thousands a year.” Everyone I see around me genuinely believes they are the special boy or girl that will get their office and become a multi millionaire that retires their family, and if they just suck up a few months of barely getting by with their sales it will pay for itself when they get their office in time.

I do NOT plan on staying more than a few months, I do above average in sales, and im not joining the impossible recruitment rat race to the top. (South CA is too hot for this im genuinely dying and i doubt i could last longer)

Now you are free to grill me to your heart’s content. Am I actually playing it smart by working this job a few months in a skill I have experience in (D2D) or is it probably going to have some other sneaky drawback in store for me? When my office notices im not trying to “grow” will they discard me? dock my pay? burn me on purpose? will i get stuck here and waste a year?
