Hey everyone, Is it possible that the white jumper wire on the NAVEE ST3 Pro controller routes the signal for the brake lever's Hall sensor, and disconnecting it is the reason active electronic braking (E-ABS) stopped working?

NAVEE ST3 Pro — Cut white wire + US firmware update. Questions about speed lock, regen, and brake behavior

Hi everyone,

I'm experimenting with unlocking my NAVEE ST3 Pro (EU/DE version) and I am trying to understand exactly how the "white wire" interacts with the firmware on this scooter.

Timeline of my modifications:

  1. Initial state (Firmware 2.0.0.4): Cutting the white wire alone did absolutely nothing. The scooter remained strictly locked at 20 km/h.
  2. The Update (Firmware 2.0.3.1): I decided to bypass the region lock by downloading the Navee app from the US App Store and using a VPN. After forcing the update to version 2.0.3.1, the 20 km/h limit finally disappeared.
  3. App features: Since switching to the US region, I now have access to many non-EU features in the app, such as Startup Speed Settings.

Current behavior and issues:

  • The rear brake light works perfectly.
  • Automatic energy recovery (KERS/passive regen) works fine on throttle release.
  • The issue: Active electronic braking does not work when pulling the brake lever (the motor doesn't provide any extra stopping power).

My questions:

  1. If I reconnect the white wire, will the scooter lock itself back to 20 km/h? Is there a risk that it will trigger a permanent lock even if I disconnect it again later?
  2. Is it possible that cutting this wire is the exact reason I lost electronic braking from the lever, even though passive regen still works?
  3. Has anyone experienced a similar behavior? Did cutting the wire do nothing for you on old firmware, with the speed limit only dropping after the US region update?
  4. Is it possible to dump/dump a backup of the current controller firmware so I can restore it if something goes wrong?

My biggest concern is whether rejoining the wire right now will overwrite or revert my current US settings and lock the speed again. If anyone has experience modifying the NAVEE ST3 Pro (especially EU/DE versions), I would highly appreciate your insights!
