⭐️The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand.” (Psalm 110:1) Prophecies from the Book of Psalms... Who do they refer to?!

⭐️The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand.” (Psalm 110:1)
Prophecies from the Book of Psalms... Who do they refer to?!

Those who claim that the Bible prophesies another prophet to come after Jesus Christ like to use verses from the Book of Psalms to support their claims, contradicting the clear text of the scriptures and interpreting them in a way that is not their intended meaning. Among these verses is this: “The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool’” (Psalm 110:1).

Some Muslim brothers writers have claimed that the awaited Messiah is not from the lineage of David, but rather that he is David’s master and Lord, and thus he is the coming prophet, citing the words of the Lord Jesus Christ:

“And while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, ‘What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?’ They said to him, ‘The Son of David.’ He said to them, ‘How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” If David calls him Lord, how can he be his son?’” (Matthew 22:42-44).

-The Muslim sister said:

“Either Jesus Christ is not the son of David (if David called him Lord, how could he be his son) and this is not possible because Jesus Christ is from the lineage of David on his mother’s side… or Jesus wanted to mention that the “Lord” that David, peace be upon him, is talking about is not from the lineage of David.”

He adds a note that the Prophet of Muslims is not from the lineage of David!!
And another wrote a chapter proving that the one David called “my Lord” which he tried hard to turn into a mere “Lord” is the Prophet of Muslims, based on the saying of the Lord Jesus Christ mentioned above!!

1 – We tell them here that the word “my Lord” used in the saying of the Prophet David “The Lord (- Yahweh) said to my Lord (- Adonai ) , “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool” (Psalm 110:1) is (- Adonai ) , from the title “Adon ( - Adhonai ), in Hebrew, which means “Lord, Master ” , and its plural is “ Adhonim - Lords , used as a plural of the singular.

This title “Adon” is used in all these meanings to address God, in the highest sense, the meaning of dignity and sovereignty, as He is the Lord and Master, the possessor of authority and sovereignty over all creatures. It is also used to express God’s power and omnipotence. It is also used for God in the plural form, the plural of majesty, to express God’s divinity, lordship, and sovereignty, “His everlasting power and divinity” (Romans 1:2), “The Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords (Adoni ha-Adonim), the great and mighty God”
(Deuteronomy 1:17).

The title “Adoni” means “ my lord, ” because the letter “yod” (?) is the possessive “ya.” “Adonai ” is usually used for respect and reverence, as an alternative to “you” and “he.” It is most often used of God and is always associated with the divine name “Yahweh.” This title appears in the Old Testament 449 times, 315 of which are with Yahweh—“Adonai Yahweh” 31 times, “Yahweh Adonai” 5 times—and 134 times as “Adonai” alone. The title is repeated in the book of Ezekiel, most of them with “Adonai Yahweh,” and the rest as “Adonai” alone. This compound title, “Adonai Yahweh” and “Yahweh Adonai,” has been translated as “Lord God, ” and expresses the authority of God, Yahweh, and His sovereignty over the entire universe, all of creation. In the vast majority of passages where “Adonai” is repeated, it is preceded by the phrase “Thus says” as an introduction, especially in the books of Ezekiel and Isaiah: “Therefore thus says the Lord God…” “Thus says the Lord God of hosts…” (Isaiah 10:24).

Since the period after the Exile, when the Jews refrained from pronouncing the name Yahweh, the title “Adonai” was used as a synonym for the name Yahweh and an interpretive equivalent to it, expressing its significance and essence. It also replaced it, as an alternative, in oral tradition. This made the Jews careful to protect the religious use of “Adon” so that people would not be addressed with it as they address human masters. When used with “Yahweh” or as a substitute for it, they would write it in a distinctive way and pronounce it in a distinctive way as well (they considered the final letter “ya” (y) in the word, which denotes ownership, to be part of the word “Adon-i.” Then they developed the pronunciation of this final “ya” in the word, so it became “Adon-i.” This subtle difference was sufficient to distinguish “Adonai” as a religious text.

2- In this prophecy, he speaks about the Lord “Yahweh” who addresses the Lord “Adonai” and seats him at the right hand of the Majesty. So who is meant here by “Adonai” who is equal to Yahweh? The answer is found in the same verse and in David’s words in another psalm. Here in this verse, Yahweh says to Adonai, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” And in the second psalm, he prophesies about the Messiah, saying, “He said to me, ‘You are my Son; today I have become your father’” (Psalm 2:7).

And we ask again, who is the one to whom Yahweh said, “You are my Son; today I have become your father”? The answer is, the Bible says that it is the Lord Jesus Christ: “When Jesus rose, as it is also written in the second Psalm, ‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you’” (Acts 13:33),
and in comparison with the angels, it says, “For to which of the angels did he ever say, ‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you’?” (Hebrews 1:5), “So also Christ did not glorify himself to become a high priest, but he who said to him, ‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you’”
(Hebrews 5:5).

-The second question is:

Who is sitting at the right hand of God, Jehovah? The answer is the Lord Jesus Christ, as the Bible tells us that only one person has ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ!! The Lord Jesus Christ confirmed that He is the Lord “Adonai” and Adonai is “Jehovah,” and that He is the one sitting at the right hand of Majesty, on the throne of God in heaven.
He also said to His disciples, “Hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power” (Matthew 26:64; Mark 14:62).

And about His ascension, He says, “Then the Lord, after He had spoken to them (His disciples and apostles), was received up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God” (Mark 16:19). “Exalted to the right hand of God” (Acts 2:32; 5:31), “Christ is he who died, yea, moreover, he is risen again, who is also at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us” (Rom. 8:34), “Christ is seated at the right hand of God” (Col. 3:1), “Who, being the radiance of God’s glory and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, having by himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Heb. 1:3), “sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven” (Heb. 8:1), “sat down forever at the right hand of God” (Heb. 8:1), “sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb. 12:2), “and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places” (Eph. 1:2), “who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, with angels and authorities and powers subject to him” (1 Peter 3:22).
Christ, then, is the Lord “Adonai-Jehovah,” the Lord of David, seated at the right hand of the throne of majesty, the throne of God in heaven.

3 - As for what these writers said, that Christ “rejected the idea that the Messiah Israel was waiting for was one of the sons of David”?!!
Christ never denied that he was the Messiah Israel was waiting for, nor that he was one of the sons of David. Rather, the crowds called him “Son of David” and said to him, “Son of David.” Indeed, the Gospel of St. Matthew begins by saying, “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham” (Matthew 1:1).

The book also says about him, “Who became of the seed of David according to the flesh” (Romans 1:3).
The book described him as “the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David” (Revelation 5:5), and he described himself by saying, “I am the root and the offspring of David” (Revelation 22:16).

As for the verses that the writer cited in which the Lord Jesus Christ asked the Jews, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The Son of David.” He said to them, “How is it that David in the spirit calls him Lord, saying:

The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” If David calls him Lord, how can he be his son?
(Matthew 22:42-44).

This does not deny that Christ is the son of David, but rather confirms that he is the son of David in the flesh and the Lord of David in his divinity.

This is what the Lord Jesus Christ wanted to confirm to the Jews, as he said about himself, “I am the root and the offspring of David” (Revelation 22:16), the root of David as his Lord and the offspring of David in the flesh, as the Scripture says, “who became of the seed of David according to the flesh” (Romans 1:3).

Here, the Lord Jesus Christ confirms in His question to them that He is the Lord of David, seated at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So who is the Lord of David?

The answer is:

The Lord of David is God! The Bible says: “Hear, O Israel.
“The Lord our God is one Lord” (Deuteronomy 6:4), and also “You shall worship the Lord your God and serve him only” (Deuteronomy 6:13; Matthew 4:1).

This was also confirmed by the Lord Christ himself when he said, “The first of all the commandments is, ‘Hear, O Israel:

The Lord our God is one Lord’” (Mark 12:29).

The Bible also says that the Lord Jesus Christ himself is this one Lord:

“But for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we in him”
(1 Corinthians 8:6).

And St. Peter says of him in the Spirit, “This is Lord of all” (Acts 1:36).

⭐️Is Christ God?
As a Christian, I believe that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16) for the salvation of the world and humanity.
The Muslim Brothers always ask me, do you really believe that Christ is God? Did Christ say, “I am God, worship me”?

Here we (you and I) will discuss together what the Bible says about God and about Christ and try to answer this question together.

Please be patient with the topic, because it is really a big topic and requires a lot of evidence and research.

———————————

⭐️⭐️Did Christ say: I am God, worship me?

This is how ,Muslim brothers always ask, my dear Muslim brother: What do you think of a question like this? Is it a logical question? There are three illogical points in this question.

⭐️The first point

If we say that a king humbled himself and wore the clothes of a commoner and walked in the markets to inspect the conditions of his subjects, would he walk everywhere shouting and screaming “I am the king, bow down to me ”, or would the king choose some of his trusted subjects and tell them about his personality and his mission and what he would wear and how he would behave as a commoner, and when would he announce his true identity and return to his palace and throne???

👉If Christ said it, will you acknowledge with us that he is truly God manifest in the flesh???

I mean, will you simply and easily believe and not accuse the Bible of distortion??

👉What do you think if I told you that the Qur’an contains an admission by Pharaoh that he is God, and you of course believe in the Qur’an and its preservation and that it has not been distorted? Would you believe that Pharaoh is actually God just because he said it and the Qur’an mentioned it??? (And Pharaoh said, "O eminent ones, I do not know of any god for you other than me. So ignite for me, O Haman, upon the clay and make for me a tower that I may look up to the God of Moses. And indeed, I think he is among the liars.") (Al-Qasas: 3) It is also attributed to Pharaoh in Surat An-Nazi'at: ( And he said, "I am your most high lord. ") (An-Nazi'at: 24) Is this Quranic statement sufficient for you to acknowledge the divinity of Pharaoh???

⭐️The second point

If someone came to you and said: “ I am the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, the Creator, the Forgiver of sin, ” it is clear from the above that he did not utter the word “Allah” explicitly, but what would you say about him???

Wouldn't you say that he claims to be " divine "?

Just as God has ninety-nine beautiful names in the Islamic faith, God also has names in the Jewish Torah and in the Christian faith. Any of them that God uses to refer to himself and that Christ also used, it is of course a clear indication that he attributes divinity to himself, not just by pronouncing the word of majesty in Arabic (Allah), but if he attributes to himself one of the names of God in Hebrew according to the Jewish faith, which we will also discuss in more detail.

⭐️The third point

Which is stronger and more truthful proof, for him to say that he is God, or for him to do the deeds of God?

This is not a denial that he said it, but a question that must be answered to complete the dialogue!!!!

Do you believe the carpenter who comes to do a job in wooden home decorations, only when he says “ I am a carpenter ”,

What if he continues all day swearing to you that he is a “carpenter” without holding a single piece of wood to actually begin to prove that he is a “carpenter” and not a pretender???

What would you think if he didn't say a word, but actually started creating masterpieces of wood in your home design?

Would you admit that he is a "carpenter" or would you wait for him to say that he is a "carpenter"???

This introduction is necessary to restore to your mind the logical order in knowing the facts of things. Do not repeat memorized questions, but come, let us use reason (God’s gift) to search together for the truth.

... Come with me to read in the Holy Bible, how the Lord Jesus Christ said about himself, “He is God” (who was, is, and is to come) in words and deeds.

——————————

⭐️⭐️Why did Christ not publicly declare his divinity?

To answer this question, we must understand the humble character of Christ, who said about himself, “Learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart ” - Matthew 11:29

So the character of Christ is not compatible with wandering around cities and villages and broadcasting “I am God, worship me.” On the contrary, we read that every time he performed one amazing miracle after another, he asked people not to reveal his character, and this is an example of that.

——————————-

And when he had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. 2 And behold, a leper came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, I will; be clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4 Then Jesus said unto him, See that thou tell no man : but go thyself, show thyself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses commanded, as a testimony unto them. Matthew 8:1-3

——————————–

Yet, he chose a group of his disciples and declared his divinity to them. He even made them confess themselves, without prompting them to answer so that they would agree. After that, he also asked them not to tell anyone about his true identity. Perhaps someone might ask, why would Jesus make such a request – to hide his truth from the public and people and announce it only to a group of close friends? I will answer you after I write to you how Christ declared his divinity to the disciples.

⭐️The first incident

“And when Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, ‘Who do people say that I, the Son of Man, am?’
14 And they said, ‘Some, John the Baptist; others, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’
15 And he said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’
16 Then Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God .’
17 And Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Barjona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.’
20 Then he commanded his disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ .”
Matthew 16:13-20

⭐️The second incident

In it, Christ took three of his closest disciples to a mountain (which became known as the Mount of Transfiguration) where Christ appeared in his divine glory . Then he also asked the disciples not to tell anyone about what they had seen until after the cross and resurrection .
Come, let us read.

After six days, Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.
2 And his face was transfigured before them; and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as the light.
3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with him.
4 Then Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if you wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5 While he yet spoke, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid.
7 Then Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise up and have no fear.”
8 When they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.
9 As they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, “ Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”
Matthew 17:1-9

——————-

So the character of the humble Christ is consistent with what we know about the Lord.
The Holy Bible says about his humility:

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
7 But made himself of no reputation, taking the form of a servant, and coming in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
9 Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 And every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:5-11

——————————–

The humility of Christ was a clear path from his birth, fulfilling the prophecies of the Old Testament. He chose to be born in a manger (Luke 2:7) in the Jewish city of Bethlehem, the smallest city in Judea (Micah 5:2 and Matthew 2:6) to poor parents who could not even offer a sacrifice of their firstborn son, except for the smallest of the available options (Leviticus 12:8 and Luke 2:24). His father was a carpenter, and Jesus also learned the carpentry trade in his childhood. They lived in the poorest and most notorious area at that time, the city of Nazareth (Luke 4:16). This clear line was not crossed by the Lord Jesus Christ in his being the Son of God (God manifest in the flesh). He lived as a perfect human being like any other human being on earth, but he was the only one who fulfilled the requirements of the law (John 8:46).
He is the Lamb of God, without sin or blemish.

Jesus Christ was fully God and fully human. Neither of these two natures transcended the other, nor did it cancel or set it aside . He was thirsty, hungry, tired, and slept like all people , but he created, healed, and raised the dead by the word of his power.

The problem with some people is that they believe that if they bring a scriptural witness or a verse that speaks about the humanity of Christ (his human nature), then they believe that by doing so they are denying His divinity .
My beloved, I can agree with you and guide you to more evidence that confirms the humanity of Christ, but you cannot deny the evidence that speaks about the divinity. Denying the divinity does not happen by proving the humanity .

As for why the Lord Jesus Christ concealed his truth from the public and revealed it only to a group that he carefully and precisely chose, this also has a reason about which the Holy Book says ( For if they had known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory ) 1 Corinthians 2:7

👉As we said in our previous example, Christ is like a king who humbled himself and took off his crown, scepter and throne glory in order to condescend and become like the common people in order to accomplish the redemption for which he came (Acts 1:8).
He chose the group that stood up to bear witness to what he said about himself and proved it with actions.

⭐️ Did Jesus Christ break the law?

⭐️ Did Jesus Christ break the law?

Jesus Christ did not come to abolish the Law, that is, the laws of the Old Testament and the Ten Commandments. So why does he not ask Christians to act according to the Law, knowing that Jesus Christ did not tell his followers who believed in him to abandon the Law of Moses or the laws of the Old Testament?

Jesus Christ did not come to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it. He himself declared, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law… I have not come to abolish it but to fulfill it” (Matthew 5:17).

Christ did not compel Christians to follow the Old Testament Law, which consisted of statutes and rules that people adhered to out of fear of God or fear of the punishment for any violation of the Law. Rather, Christ wanted Christians to walk according to the perfect Law, which He fulfilled by His coming. This Law is embodied in love: God’s love for humanity, and humanity’s love for God and for one another.

Christ fulfilled the Law by completing the great act of redemption, putting an end to sacrifices through his own sacrifice—his death on the cross in place of sinners. As for the Ten Commandments, Christ gave them a new meaning and interpretation: all the commandments point to love. If a person loves God, they will not disobey His will. If they love their fellow human being, they will not harm them, violate their property, or infringe upon their honor. If a person loves themselves, they will not defile themselves with evil deeds and idle desires. Christ emphasized that God wants people to adhere to the principle of love, not to outdated laws, rules, or harsh rituals. In other words, people should not obey the commandments out of fear of God's punishment, but rather in response to the call of love and by living according to this love in their daily lives.

As for the commandments, Christ gave them new dimensions. For example, he explained the commandments in relation to the principle of love. He doesn't want people to simply obey the commandments as laws, nor does he want us to merely refrain from committing sin. Rather, he wants us to go further by not even thinking about sin in our hearts. In other words, it's not enough for our actions to be good; our thoughts must be holy, and our consciences must be pure and righteous. Christ referred to some of the commandments when he said, “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I say to you that anyone who is angry with his brother or sister will be subject to judgment” (Matthew 5:21-22).
That is, not only is murder a sin, but even anger without cause is a sin. In this regard, he pointed out that offering sacrifices alone does not atone for sins, but rather reconciliation with others. He said, “If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar.
First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift” (Matthew 5:23-24).
Thus, we understand that purity of intention and a clean heart toward others, and reconciliation, are the foundation, not the offering of sacrifices. As for the commandment concerning adultery, Jesus said, “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Matthew 5:27-28).
With this, Christ emphasized that it is not only the act of adultery itself that is a sin, but even the mere act of lust is a sin, whether or not a person actually commits the act.
This is because every action a person takes is first planned in their mind before being carried out. As for love, Jesus does not simply encourage us to love those who love us, for that is self-evident; everyone loves those who love them. Rather, the important thing is for us to train ourselves to love even those who do not love us, even our enemies (Matthew 5:43-46).
This reveals the sanctity of Christian thought and the perfect Law, fulfilled by Christ, which believers in Christ should follow. For Christ added to the Law the teachings of love, forgiveness, brotherhood, and holiness. If we were to examine the Holy Bible in this regard, the matter would become abundantly clear.

⭐️Do Christians still respect and abide by the Ten commandments ?

Undoubtedly, Christians still respect the Ten Commandments because they are God's commandments. Christian teaching views the Ten Commandments as a mirror reflecting one's own sins. When one sees their sin, they should look to God's grace, love, and forgiveness, which He has prepared in Christ Jesus.
Those who believe in Christ Jesus should strive to follow in His footsteps and adhere to the complete Law.

The difference between the faith of Christians and the faith of believers in the Old Testament lies in the fact that Old Testament believers lived according to the Law, attempting to apply it literally.
They relied on sacrifices and burnt offerings to atone for their sins. There were religious, moral, and social laws, rituals, and traditions that believers were obligated to follow to please God. Believers in the New Testament, however, are not bound by these laws, rituals, and ceremonies. Instead, they are to act in the spirit of love that Jesus taught them, believe in Christ the Savior, and walk in His footsteps. Keeping the commandments, traditions, and rituals according to the teachings of the Old Testament is not enough for human salvation, because the Bible indicates that the Law requires perfection, and it is known that no perfect person can fully adhere to all the commandments without breaking one.
If a person breaks one commandment, it is as if they have broken them all. The Bible says in this regard: “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at one point is guilty of breaking all of them. For he who said, ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ also said, ‘You shall not murder.’ So if you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law” (James 2:10-11).

Since no one can keep all the commandments without breaking at least one, sacrifices were offered in the Old Testament. But Christ, by fulfilling the Law through the sacrifice of himself, abolished the covenant of sacrifices, and it is no longer necessary for people to offer sacrifices for the salvation of their souls, because Jesus gave himself as a ransom for all (Timoth 2:6).

Since Jesus Christ abolished the covenant of sacrifices, Christians do not offer the sacrifices that people offered in the Old Testament.
The Lord Jesus offered Himself once and for all as a pleasing sacrifice. In doing so, He offered Himself not only as a lamb to be sacrificed for the sins of Christians, but for the sins of the whole world. The Bible says in this regard: “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). He abolished sin by sacrificing Himself (Hebrews 9:26). He also abolished the covenant of sacrifices forever (Hebrews 10:14). Therefore, salvation from sin in the New Testament is not through the offering of sacrifices and burnt offerings, but rather it is a gift from God, as the Bible says: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).

These are the differences between the faith of Christians and the faith of believers in the Old Testament. Christians believe that a loving God justifies people through the grace He freely bestows upon all who believe. Christ, the incarnate God, is a gift from heaven to the inhabitants of earth, and His coming into the world was an expression of the holy God's love for sinful humanity and His desire for their salvation, as stated in the verse: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). ✝️🕊

⭐️The place of the Holy Bible in our lives Or does God speak to us in our personal lives only through the Bible?

⭐️The place of the Holy Bible in our lives
Or does God speak to us in our personal lives only through the Bible?

The answer is in points that clarify our relationship with the Bible, its books, and the covenant of Judah.

⭐️First, the Bible is a faithful testimony.

1- The Holy Bible bears the complete, faithful, and true testimony of the apostles and prophets to Christ because it is inspired (carries the breath of the Holy Spirit): As the Apostle Paul said, “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16)… And as he repeated several times: “This is a faithful word” (1 Timothy 1:15)
and as the Apostle Peter said: “For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:21).

2- The only source of doctrine and teaching that establishes our relationship with the Lord in the Church,
as the Apostle Peter said: “And we have the prophetic word, which is more sure, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place” (2 Peter 1:19-20).

The prophetic word is proven because it is historically recorded for all ages and does not negate the personal relationship that exists between a believer and God...
This is not proven because it is not written as revelation and pertains to the person himself and his relationship with God...

There is no other source of doctrine... and any other source outside the testimony of the apostles in the Holy Scriptures is not a source of doctrine or teaching... but rather a mere opinion, interpretation, or clarification, and it is measured in light of the book, its context, and its meaning... everything attributed to the apostles or prophets outside the Holy Scriptures is not a source of doctrine or any church organization.

3- Useful for teaching, discipline, and rebuke to build a person in his relationship with the Lord: As Paul said… Scripture… is useful for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

___________

⭐️Secondly, the book is not a substitute for God.

But the Bible is not an end in itself to be worshipped or used as a substitute for God.

4- He is the map that draws the path for us to know Him, but the path itself is Christ,

as the Lord Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

5- The Holy Bible bears witness to life, but life is Christ Himself,
as the Lord Jesus said: “Search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life. And it is they that bear witness to me.

” The Scriptures bear witness to Him, but they are not life… but rather an invitation to accept life.

6- The Bible is not a substitute for the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, because the Bible itself testifies to the work of the Spirit:

“ And it shall come to pass in the last days, that I will pour out of my Spirit on all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.” (Acts 2:17) This is what happened on the Day of Pentecost,

and the Lord Himself says, as the Bible testifies: “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak of himself, but whatever he hears he will speak; and he will tell you things to come.” …
The Bible testifies to the words of the Holy Spirit in the heart… And these words are not only for the apostles and the disciples… but for every believer in the Church.
Should we say to the Lord, “No… Do not let your Holy Spirit speak to us… because we will be satisfied with reading the Holy Scriptures?”

And the Lord said to his disciples (in revelation): “And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not worry about how or what you are to defend yourself or what you are to say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that very hour what you ought to say.” Were these words only for the disciples in the first century or for the entire church? Or if for the entire church… How would the Holy Spirit teach them? Would He teach them to read a book before appearing in court? Or would He speak directly to their hearts?

And Paul confirms this (in the faithful testimony of the book)

And as for you ,
the anointing which you have received from Him remains in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you. But as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true and is not a lie, so you remain in Him…
“As this same anointing teaches you about all things.”...

The primary source of the believer’s heart is the relationship with the Lord... with the Divine Spirit dwelling within him.

And the Holy Spirit, to this day, moves our hearts and the hearts of those who accept visions, dreams, and comforting words... for the believer to grow and for the unbeliever to accept Christ.

7- The Holy Bible is not a substitute for the word of God to our hearts and His whispers in our ears.

The word of the Bible is general for the entire church, from which doctrine is taken
and does not deny the word of the Lord to every heart in prayer and in its relationship with Jesus,
because the Lord himself said:

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)

He did not say, “My sheep read about me.” Whoever reads about Christ in the Bible and is satisfied with that will not be saved.
The testimony of the Bible must move him to open his heart and accept Christ within him through the Holy Spirit, so he hears the voice of the Lord in his heart and establishes a relationship with Him.

These special words and dialogue between the heart of every believer and the Lord Jesus are not a source of doctrine (like the words of the Bible)... but rather a life of faith.

____________

⭐️Thirdly, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Just as some may err who place their trust in human rituals and traditions (as I used to do) and add teachings that mislead people from the truth of Christ and from the simplicity of the relationship with Him through candles, incense, and icons, and they replace the Holy Spirit with oil and the Lord with bread and wine.

Some non-ritualistic brothers may also make mistakes and replace the relationship
They are with the Lord through the Holy Spirit in a relationship with the Bible. If you want to hear the voice of the Lord, go and read the Bible
. If you want to talk to Him, go and read the Bible.

If you cry out and He does not answer you, go and get the answer from the Bible.
The danger of this statement is that it almost negates the work of the Holy Spirit… and makes the relationship with the Lord = a relationship with a book… and not with Jesus Christ himself.

Thus, the book became a mediator for the Lord and not a witness for him,
and Christ was transformed into a book containing theoretical information that we struggle with ourselves to apply… and the Holy Spirit disappears from our lives.

I do not want to negate the importance of the Bible… God forbid,
for everything we receive in prayer we must measure it against the word of God in the Bible… because the word of God does not contradict each other,
so no one should think that a divine message came to him to kill so-and-so, or steal, or commit adultery.

Rather, the Holy Bible is a faithful witness to life with God and an accurate measure.

The Holy Spirit uses the Bible, uses all of life, uses friends and family, uses visions, dreams, and direct heartfelt words to nourish our lives with His life.

The ultimate goal is for us to be in the Lord and for Him to be in us, and for us to grow in Him.

Our relationship is with the person of the Lord, and the Bible is a witness… and we will go astray greatly if we read it apart from the Holy Spirit of the Lord.

⭐️Quote : I and the Father are one (John 10:30)

Christ says with a full mouth, equating himself with the Father in essence, that he and the Father are one in (John 10:30)

Here the answer is clear: the Son and the Father are one in essence... Christ is God incarnate.
But some Muslim brothers try To mislead and saying:

In completing the chapter, Christ confirmed that he only meant what was said in the Old Testament: “ I said, ‘You are gods .’”

Therefore, he does not differentiate himself from the rest of the judges in the Old Testament (is this true???)

This is, of course, a Wrong interpretation because Christ does not equate himself with the judges of the Old Testament, nor does he say that he is like them. Rather, he denounces the Jews’ acceptance of the deification of those who accepted the Word of God (the judges of the Old Testament) and rejects the deification of the Word of God himself (Christ), who gave them this deification.

That is to sayHe denounces their acceptance of the deification of the image...and their denial of the divinity of the original.

Who is the original and what is the image?

Here is the text in the Bible and the reasons that lead us to accuse Muslims change of facts to mislead.

⭐️First, the text in John, Chapter 10:

29 My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
30 I and the Father are one
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to throw at him ( the Jews knew that he was blaspheming ).
32 Jesus answered them , “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of them do you stone me? ”
33 The Jews answered him, “For a good work we do not stone you, but for blasphemy, and because you, being a man, make yourself God.” ( Jewish scholars explain why he is a blasphemer .)
34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said you are gods?’” ( Quoting the Old Testament on the deification of the judges )
35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came , and the Scripture cannot be broken,   ( the reason for their deification is their acceptance of the word of the Lord )
36 Do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, “You blaspheme,” because I said, “I am the Son of God.” ( Reprehensibility: Christ distinguishes himself from the judges, for he is the Holy One of the Father— the same word  .)
37 If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me. (Christ cites the fact that his works are the works of the Father as further evidence of his union with the Father and that they are one.
38 But if I do, though you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may know and believe that the Father is in me and I am in him ( and again he confirms that he is in the Father and the Father is in him ).
39. Then they sought again to seize him, but he escaped from their hands. ( And again the Jewish leaders knew that he was blaspheming .)

⭐️Secondly, text analysis and response

  1. First, the reason we call the interpretation on Islamic websites Not true and Misleading.
Christ declared that he and the Father are one…

* According to the Christian interpretation , it is a declaration of His divinity and that He is the same essence as the Father.

* According to the Jewish interpretation, this is blasphemy, and that is why the holy text says that the Jews understood exactly what he meant and wanted to stone him: “Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him” (John 10:31).
(The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we do not stone you, but for blasphemy, and because you, being a man, make yourself God.) (John 10:33)

At the end of the conversation, Christ confirmed the same idea by saying, “That you may know and believe that the Father is in me and I am in him” (John 10:38).

The Jews responded in kind: “They also sought to seize him” (John 10:39).

* According to the Islamic interpretation, this is also blasphemy... No prophet in the Quranic stories or in the Sunnah said:

I am one with God
There is the famous story of Al-Hallaj when he said that he was the truth... they killed him because by declaring this he equated himself with God... and this is an insult to the divine self in Islam... and for this reason, according to Islam also, Christ in our Gospels, when he said this, is an infidel who deserves to be killed, just like the Jews.

This leads us to a fundamental point... that this interpretation is neither Islamic, nor Christian, nor Jewish...so what???

It is a personal, Wrong interpretation invented by contemporary Muslims with a twisted interpretation of the holy text without any Christian, Islamic, or even Jewish reference ... simply to manipulate the minds of simpletons who frequent Islamic forums when they sing there and respond to themselves.

2) Is the denunciation of Christ a denunciation of his equality with the Father,  or is it a denunciation of those who accepted him for the deification of the image and the denial of the divinity of the origin?
Christ denounced the Jews' attack on him, saying:

(I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of these works will you stone me?) (John 10:32)

Was this denunciation to deny the accusation against himself and confirm to them that he did not claim divinity?
 …God forbid

Christ answers the Jews with the reasons for his denunciation of them.
(Is it not written in your law, “I said, ‘You are gods?’” If he called them gods to whom the word of God came , and the Scripture cannot be broken, do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, “You blaspheme, because I said, ‘I am the Son of God ’?”) (John 10:34-36)

From this text it is clear that Christ is clarifying three points:

-First , the Jews accept the Old Testament text regarding the deification of the judges.

-Secondly, the reason for this deification is their acceptance of the word.
(If he called them gods to those to whom the word of God came )

-Thirdly, how can they not maintain the divinity of the Word itself (the origin and source of the deification of the judges)?
The Word of God was the reason for the deification of the judges because it is the source of deification and the essence of divinity.
Christ is the very Word of God that the Father sent to the world ( the Father sanctified him and sent him to the world )

(In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God .) (John 1:1)

If Christ does not denounce their understanding that he is God,  as contemporary Muslim try to portray him.

On the contrary, he denounces the Jews for their lack of logic.

And their acceptance of the deification of the judges of the Old Testament simply because they accepted the word of God ,
And their rejection of the divinity of the Word Himself whom the Father sent into the world.

How do they accept the deification of the image (those who accepted the word) and reject the divinity of the origin (the word itself) ???

This is Christ's denunciation.
That is why, at the end of the text, Christ returns to confirm the same message without denying his true divinity.
(That you may know and believe that the Father is in me and I in him ) (John 10:38)

⭐️Third, from the interpretations of the fathers
explanation Golden Mouth
What he says is :
Of this kind: “If those who accept this dignity by grace find no fault in calling They themselves are gods, How can one who has this by nature be rebuked? (Saint John Chrysostom.. from the interpretation of Tadros Yacoub Malti)
And so Irenaeus confirms: Athanasius said that it is a prophecy about the children of the New Testament, that we become children of God by adoption and thus Like gods, but Christ is the source of our deification because he is the very Word.

Athanasius's Interpretation

Athanasius : Wherefore He is very God , existing one in essence with the very Father; While other beings, to whom He said, ' I said ye are Gods had this grace from the Father , only by participation of the Word, through the Spirit. For He is the expression of the Father's Person, and Light from Light, and Power, and very Image of the Father's essence” (Against the Arians; Orationes contra Arianos)

Irenaeus's interpretation

Irenaeus : “But of what gods does he speak? Of those to whom He says, “I have said, Ye are gods, and all sons of the Most High.” (Psa_82:6) To those, no doubt, who have received the grace of the “adoption , by which we cry, Abba Father.” (Rom_3:14) (Against Heresies. BOOK III)

This is what our Gospel means, the one unity, with the Holy Spirit saying, prophecy about Adoption in Christ in the New Testament on the tongue of Asaph
: “ I said that you Gods and sons of the Most High, you are all.(Psalm 82:6)

What does the Holy Spirit mean? On the tongue of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament
: “ But as many as They accepted him So he gave them authority to They become children of GodThose who believe in the name of Jesus (John 1:12)

Everyone who They accepted The Word became children of God and deified through communion with the Godhead.
" By which I have He has given us the great and precious promises so that you may become like them. Nature's Partners Divine “Fleeing the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (2 Peter 1:4)

But it remains Christ is the word itself that We were deified by it
Christ denounces the Ignorance of the Jews as well as the current Ignorance of the Muslims.... How do they accept the deification of the one to whom the Word came and reject the divinity of the Word itself?
as Muslims: How do they accept that the Qur’an is not created while Christ, the Word of God, is created? Christ is the complete revelation of the divine word.

No consolation for fools It would have been better for them to scold themselves, saying:
" How so? We shall be saved if we neglect such a salvation.“(Hebrews 2:3)

+ The peace of Christ is greater than all peace

⭐️Why is Jesus Christ likened to Melchizedek?

-Question: From Paul’s letter to the Hebrews (Hebrews 6, 7)

6:20 Where Jesus entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

7:1 For this Melchizedek was king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him.

7:2 To whom Abraham divided a tenth of everything (first being translated King of righteousness, and then also King of Salem, which is to say, King of peace).

7:3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.

7:17 For he testifies that you are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Why is Jesus Christ likened to Melchizedek in these verses?

⭐️Reply:

First, Melchizedek is the king of Salem and the priest of God Most High. He was present in the days of our master Abraham.

As the Torah says, “Genesis 14:18: “And Melchizedek, our father Abraham, gave him tithes,

and the king of Salem brought out bread and wine, and he was a priest of God Most High.”

The Apostle Paul decides that Melchizedek is greater than our master Abraham because Melchizedek blessedAbraham.

His priesthood is greater than the priesthood of the tribe of Levi, which is the tribe of the Jews

, from whom came the priests who prophesied in the temple before the holy Ark of the Covenant.

Although the Melchizedek priesthood was not from the tribe of Levi, which is the Jewish tribe assigned to the priesthood

Here, Saint Paul compares Christ to Melchizedek in that he is from the tribe of Judah, which also does not have a priesthood.

The story of Melchizedek in the Torah says that he offered Abraham “ bread and wine ” and did not offer him animal sacrifices as was the custom of the Jews.

Here it is a symbol of the priesthood, “ bread and wine, ” the Eucharist ( the sacrament of communion ), which Christ established.

Christ is also the “ high priest ” of the Church.

The Apostle Paul says about Melchizedek in Hebrews 7:3:

He has no father or mother, no beginning of days and no end. In this, he is like the Son of Man , who is Christ .

The phrase "without father or mother" means that he has no lineage in the priesthood .

That is, he did not receive the priesthood through inheritance, either from his father or his mother.

Thus, Christ also did not inherit the rank of priesthood from his mother or from his father Joseph

according to his human lineage, because Joseph was from the lineage of the tribe of Judah.

And Melchizedek did not inherit the priesthood because he was not from the tribe of Levi, from which priests descend by inheritance.

Melchizedek's days were before the children of Israel were divided into twelve tribes.

Therefore, the tribe of Levi had not yet appeared to serve as priests to the Lord before the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies inside the Tent of Meeting.

Likewise, Christ is from the tribe of Judah, which is not from a tribe that is exclusively for priesthood.

Therefore, Christ did not inherit the priesthood from his earthly parents, just like Melchizedek.

( He has no beginning of days, nor end of life ) meaning that just as Melchizedek entered the story in the Torah suddenly and left it suddenly

Without knowing the end of the story of Melchizedek in the Bible

And without the Torah telling us the beginning of his days or the end of his life

He only appeared at one time as a biblical character to deliver a message.

To be a symbol of Christ without knowing his history or lineage

Saint Paul cited the fact that his story, which was mentioned in the Torah, left the story of Melchizedek open at both ends ( its beginning and end ).

The origin and chapter of Melchizedek were not mentioned, so I consider that there is no beginning or end to his story in the Torah.

Even the days of the priestly service of Melchizedek mentioned in the Torah, we do not know when it began and when it ended.

It is a story that is exactly like the priesthood of Christ, whose priesthood has no beginning and no end.

Because He is the eternal heavenly King ( from eternity - and forever ) whose priesthood has no beginning or end.

Therefore, David’s prophecy about the priesthood of Christ that is to be in the Psalms says: (110-4)

( The Lord has sworn and will not repent, You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek .)

The Torah did not mention the story of Melchizedek’s father and mother, leaving it open-ended.

She did not mention that he descended from a priestly family. In this, he was like Christ, who came from the tribe of Judah, a tribe that did not have the privilege of priesthood.

Because the priesthood is for the tribe of Levi, which began with Aaron, the brother of the Prophet Moses.

Because the twelve tribes of the children of Israel in general had not yet been formed, and the tribe of priesthood in particular did not exist in the days of Melchizedek

The Torah in the Book of Genesis did not mention anything about Melchizedek except his position with our master Abraham only.

He was the first priest in the days of Abraham , and was taken as a symbol of Jesus Christ ( the High Priest ) before his incarnation.

Likewise, Christ is the founder of the priesthood in the New Testament, the covenant of grace, forever.

And as Melchizedek offered wine and bread to Abraham, which is a symbol of the body and blood of Christ in the Sacrament of Communion.

The similarity between him and Christ is that Christ, since he is the High Priest and the first founder of the Church through the Sacrament of Communion,

which he offered to his disciples at the last supper

This secret, consisting of bread and wine, is exactly like what Melchizedek offered to Abraham.

And as the Torah did not mention the beginning and end of the story of Melchizedek the priest

Likewise, the priesthood of Christ is eternal and everlasting, without beginning or end.

The Torah did not mention anything about Melchizedek's father, mother, or lineage.

In this, it resembles the eternal priesthood of Christ.

Because it is the priesthood of the greatest God and the greatest Creator, who has no father, no mother, and whose priesthood has no beginning.

Because Christ, as God, did not take his priesthood from humans.

Because Christ himself is the divine priesthood that he gave to humanity, and his priesthood is an eternal priesthood, that is, eternal and forever.

These are the few verses that came about Melchizedek in the Book of Genesis in the Torah.

Which Paul took to compare between him and the high priesthood of Christ.

It only mentioned a very small position he had with Abraham, and it did not mention anything else about the beginning and end of his priesthood.

Neither his father nor his mother nor the beginning nor the end of his life... He is in everything that the Torah did not mention about him

In this, Paul likened him to Jesus Christ (Genesis 14:18-20)

14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine, and he was priest of God Most High.

14:19 And he blessed him and said, Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.

14:20 And blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand. And he gave him a tenth of everything.

This is all that the Torah mentioned about Melchizedek.

Comparing what is stated in the Torah with Paul’s words in the Gospel to the Hebrews:

We find that what Paul means is the symbolic meaning that the Torah came with in its story about Melchizedek.

Paul took this open story, its beginning and end, from Melchizedek.

He likened it to the state of Christ, in that he has an open priesthood ( eternal – everlasting ), a divine priesthood that he did not take from a created human being, because he is the Creator.

Therefore, his divine priesthood was not inherited from his father or mother, because he is the Creator, and since he is an eternal God, he has neither beginning nor end.

The Torah also left the story of Queen Tzedek's life open from beginning to end.

It represents the infinity or eternity of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In this, the prophecy of the Prophet David in his Psalms about the high priesthood of Christ, which is a divine priesthood, is fulfilled:

( The Lord has sworn and will not repent, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” ) (Psalm 110:4)
