How tf do craters work, do you have to use braches?

I'm getting high ping again, tho everything else is fine and was before for about 6 hours. This seems to be happening randomly, and fixing itself in about 3 hours. My wifi is perfectly fine. Is this happening to anyone else? How can i fix this, or is it because i use the free plan?
