Help

why can’t I let go of the fear that the mmr I gave my then unvaccinated 5 year old can cause sspe. it’s been 17 months since he got mmr and for 17 months I have been obsessing, googling, feeling a panic in my chest, and regret and despise the day I got him the mmr. because I just felt like a knee jerk reaction and got it. but I knew I would feel this way I hate thia. what do you all think about the claims from anti vaccine side that sspe can also be caused by mmr? I can’t go one with this fear and regret anymore

Help

any advice on what to do if I have yet to forgive myself for giving my then 5 year old the mmr (in March 2025) I got scared and after not vaccinating him at all I gave in and I completely have lived with constant agony and guilt and worry over what I did (I know it sounds dramatic) but I genuinely wish I could go back and have him as he was before, untouched by mmr. is my worry about sspe from mmr unfounded? I have done a ton of research as this is the worry that consumes me and apparently measles in mmr is very different biologically incapable of causing sspe but I can’t let go of the fact that it’s a live virus vaccine after all. I really need help and some sound advice from this community. my life is not the same and I don’t want to live with this worry anymore, it’s all consuming and painful

Tumor can’t be operated on

my dad had surgery today to remove a 10cm tumor from his colon that has not spread. they were not able to remove it because it is too stuck inside or too wedged in and it would be considered high risk to do that. they have now put in a colostomy bag and will try to shrink the tumor with chemo, maybe try operating if it shrinks. has anyone experienced this before?

please help me

Guys I’m exhausted and losing hope to heal this anxiety. I have had this anxiety for 15 months. Imagine losing out on your little girls whole 2nd year of life and your sons 5th year of life because you are consumed by anxiety. And still looking at your kids and not being able to feel any joy in the motherhood that once gave you so much peace, joy for living and purpose. I am a shell. Please help me rid this anxiety that the mmr I gave my son over a year ago when he was about to turn 5 is not going to cause him to have sspe. I have read too much. My brain is fried and I need healing. I want to get back to my kids. Please no comments saying mmr can cause it. I’m really fragile and just need to hear mmr can’t cause sspe. From mom to mom I would really appreciate it anything that can help

help me get rid of this fear

please help me. I didn’t want to give my son the mmr but I did. but that was 15 months ago. he was almost 5 and it was his first. I can’t forgive myself and I can’t let go of the fear that sspe can be also caused by mmr. I have read too much, and I don’t know what to think. I just know my children’s lives are slipping away from me because I can’t even enjoy them or feel anymore because this fear is unbearable. if hypothertically mmr could somehow cause sspe…he was almost 5. how do I get over this fear. I really don’t mean to sound like I’m in a crisis but everyday kind of feels like I am

I need help

hi everyone, I feel broken. I am honestly at my end of the road here. Over a year ago I gave my oldest his first mmr vaccine, he was almost 5 years old. I did not really want to give it to him. but I did, and what came after has been something I feel like living in hell. I have blamed myself, think I betrayed him, sometimes I couldn’t even look at him. the worry of those first weeks destroyed me. then came the biggest worry of all. I have a big distrust in the medical system and pretty much anything they say I do not believe or always second guess. I know they say that sspe cannot come from the vaccine, but all the anti vaccine circles always say yes it is possible, the reasoning is because it is a live virus vaccine, so why couldn’t it cause it really? I have convinced myself for over a year that I have given my son measles and therefore at risk for sspe. what is going in with me? I am living in hell everyday I don’t even feel joy with my kids anymore because I feel like I did something to my son. I’ve posted about this before and as you can see it has been over a year of this disaster I have created. if only I stayed away from the mmr I wouldn’t feel like this. I even had to take anti depressants and anti psychotics and now I feel like my brain is broken. I don’t feel like I used to and I still have this deep anxiety that my son will get that awful delayed brain inflammation from his mmr. I really just need some words, nudge, help, anything. I feel like my life is over. I just want to feel that joy amd peace i use to. I used to be such a good mom

just want some insight

hi everyone, my dad has been having the following symtoms for about three months, he is now doing the tests so we are in the waiting game. I want to add he has had ulcerative colitis for a couple of years now but managed to get that under control for a while. a couple of months ago he bagan feeling very tired, just unwell, and quickly that turned to anemia, diarrhea, no appetite, significant weight loss, lethargy and we have confirmed there is a lump in his lower abdomen. doctor said chrons or a malignancy. he will get his colonoscopy next week and I’m very worried. if it is chrons, what is the outlook for someone in their 70s? i am also hoping it’s not malignancy and wondering what you guys thought could be the cause and your experiences.

Measles-I’m not asking for medical advice

how dangerous is the measles, really? seems like to some it is even asymptomatic and to most it is a cold, fever and rash. to others it is a very scary illness that can cause terrible symptoms and long term effects. also, why is the mmr a live vaccine, I am very scared of live vaccines because aren’t they just like giving the illness you are worried about getting? I am not asking for medical advice.
