My mother was late to her mothers memorial service

I need to vent to those that understand. My mother and I are not close. My grandma raised me and passed 6/26. We lived together all my life, 34 years and til her end and it was always going to be that way.

There was a dedicated group chat and emails for the planning of service. My mother was there at the planning of service at the funeral home and in every conversation.

Yesterday was the day of service that was planned for a month now. She texted me in the morning asking what time is the service or what time should she be there. I ignored it because wtf. The wake was at 12 then the service started at 12:30. I called at 12:29 and asked her where was she, she said 5 minutes away. She arrived a little after 1. Now the other family members met at my mother’s house and so 7 people came in late.

Not only was she an hour late, she came in wearing a short dress that she had to cuff from behind as she was walking so it wouldnt show anything.

Everything is planned out in the program. Who was suppose to speak and the order of service. When 12:35 came we just said let’s start. When services start the minister has everyone stand and announces the family will be entering. It was basically me, my uncle, 2 cousins.

I was so embarrassed. Im not gonna dive into the whole thing cause it would be a whole chapter to read. People got up to speak and were lying about stories.

Its like she couldn’t let the day be about my gma. My uncle and I were looking for the urn, she didnt tell anyone she took the urn. She gave plants away. Im so glad this is all over with.

My gma wanted us to mend our relationship but my mothers reality is not reality. I told her the night before we would have to sit down and talk, hear each other’s point of view to understand where we are coming from.

She said you’re right i was not a mother to you. After the service i will go back to my world.

So now I know 100% a narcissist will nvr change.

What does it mean when someone maxed out their tickets in jail? I never heard of it before. Was told a friend cannot be released early and need to do their full sentence because they maxed out tickets. Max is 4 year sentence next year. I think he maxed out tickets in year 2. Did get into a lot of fights with inmates and co’s and in the shu a few times.
