Killed hundreds of thousands of civilians: Holodomor, but numbers are more than hundreds of thousands because this guy believed plants could grow in winter. He knew nothing about agriculture. Most of Holodomor's victims are peasants or "proletariat" as they call it.

Treated like a hero: treated as a hero out of fear since that's how a cult of personality works. He is worshipped also unironically by western communists who probably have never lived in ONE communist country or never worked an hour and call themselves "proletariats" and "workers of the revolution"
