I’m looking for recommendations for a good orthopedic/medical compression specialist in the Amsterdam area who understands lipedema and works with custom flat knit compression garments that can be covered by insurance.

My GP referred me to a lymphedema specialist for a Velcro compression wrap/strap system, but unfortunately that is not suitable for me. I specifically need tailor-made flat knit compression leggings/pantyhose for lipedema, preferably from brands like Medi (Mediven), Juzo, or Jobst.

I’m looking for recommendations for orthopedics in the Netherlands (or Germany) that provide custom-made flat knit compression panties for lipedema.

I’m considering surgery at Lipedmedical in Madrid, and one of their requirements is to wear tailor-made flat knit compression (class II, 20–30 mmHg, full panty) for 4–6 weeks before surgery (12–14 hours daily).

They specifically mention models like:

Mediven 550

Mediven Mondi

and also say brands like:

Juzo

JOBST

are acceptable alternatives.

Since I don’t live in Spain, I need to find a provider locally (NL or DE) that:

Offers flat knit (not circular knit!)

Provides custom/tailor-made garments

Can ensure 20–30 mmHg compression (class II) — I understand classification can vary by country

Has experience with lipedema patients if possible

If anyone has experience with specific orthopedics, fitters, or clinics that work with these brands (especially Mediven, which I believe is produced in Germany), I’d really appreciate your recommendations 🙏

I’m looking for some advice or recommendations regarding financing options for a medical procedure abroad.

I need to undergo a surgery outside of the Netherlands, but unfortunately it is not covered by my health insurance. Because of this, I’m exploring the possibility of working with a third-party company in NL that specializes in medical loans or personal lending for healthcare purposes (not through a traditional bank).

Has anyone here had experience with such companies?
