Barebones mini PC now and RAM later

I want to buy a new mini PC eventually, but there is no rush. With RAM and NVME drives as expensive as they are right now, it is not going to happen anytime soon. I am worried once RAM prices drop, CPU prices will climb as every tries to upgrade. Should I buy a barebones mini PC now and just wait to finish it or should I hold off and buy everything at the same time?

Why can't I daisy chain power strips

I am pretty sure NEC says power strips cannot be daisy chained. Why is daisy chaining two power strips more dangerous than enlarging the single gang box and adding a second 15 A duplex receptacle?

How to go from iw output to hostapd.conf ht_capab and vht_capab

On my system iw list returns a huge list of information including

Band 1:
Capabilities: 0x19ef
RX LDPC
HT20/HT40
SM Power Save disabled
RX HT20 SGI
RX HT40 SGI
TX STBC
RX STBC 1-stream
Max AMSDU length: 7935 bytes
DSSS/CCK HT40

and

Band 2:
Capabilities: 0x19ef
RX LDPC
HT20/HT40
SM Power Save disabled
RX HT20 SGI
RX HT40 SGI
TX STBC
RX STBC 1-stream
Max AMSDU length: 7935 bytes
DSSS/CCK HT40

...

VHT Capabilities (0x039071f6):
Max MPDU length: 11454
Supported Channel Width: 160 MHz
RX LDPC
short GI (80 MHz)
short GI (160/80+80 MHz)
TX STBC
SU Beamformee
MU Beamformee

but hostapd.conf wants something like

ht_capab=[HT40-][HT40+][GF][SHORT-GI-20][SHORT-GI-40][RX-STBC1][DSSS_CCK-40]
vht_capab=[SHORT-GI-80][MAX-A-MPDU-LEN-EXP3][RX-ANTENNA-PATTERN][TX-ANTENNA-PATTERN]

Is iw the right tool to get these capabilities and if so, how do I map between the output and what hostapd wants??

Post quantum security on older Arch systems

I maintain a number of Arch systems that have been running for years. A lot of our ssh logins are based on RSA keys which I think are not safe and our passwords are generally SHA-512, which I am not sure about. Our luks encrypted volumes are aes-xts-plain64 which I think is ok. We run an OpenVPN server, which I have no idea what we are using for keys.

The Arch wiki security page (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Security) does not discuss PQC. Is there a wiki entry, or someplace else, that discusses how to harden a system with PQC?

Our current gaming system is

i9-9900 CPU @ 3.10GHz
64 GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM
Radeon RX 6900 XT

My son mostly plays single player Civilization and Factorio. How much would we have to spend, and what type of specs, to get a noticeable improvement?
