Any ideas on how to make this fireplace look good?

In the process of decorating. The last person in this house had the horrible idea of painting the tiles black, I have stripped off some of the paint and the original tiles are a brown colour.

Any ideas on how to make this look better? Looking for something I can stick on the front. We are probably going to be painting the wall above a dark green.

How can I remove these marker lines?

Spent all night last night hanging lining paper on the walls.

This morning my 3 year old managed to get his hand on some markers and draw all over the lining paper 🤦🏻‍♂️

Is there a way to ger this out, or am I better pulling off the lining paper and redoing it? I’d rather not do that as the adhesive has already set so it’s going to be a nightmare pulling it off.

The Range refusing to replace or refund faulty item, what are my rights?

About 3 months ago we ordered a 9 piece garden set from The Range, the value being around £500.

It came with an umbrella that uses a lever to wind it up or down. A few days ago, as I was winding the lever up, one of the arms of the umbrella snapped in half. It is not repairable, so the umbrella requires replacing.

I emailed The Range customer service requesting a replacement umbrella. As far as I understand, but correct me if I’m wrong, under the CRA 2015, a retailer has to repair/replace the item within 6 months.

The Range have essentially tried telling me their own T&Cs override the law, which I know is a load of rubbish. They are saying as the umbrella wasn’t broken when I received it, then it goes down as wear and tear and therefore is excluded from the CRA. They said they can offer me a full refund as long as it’s all in its original packaging and unused, knowing that I’ve had it for 3 months so it’s obviously been used.

Can anyone help me here? The quality of the set of clearly poor, it should not be breaking under normal use after 3 months. Surely I have recourse here?

Is lining paper the best option here?

Just moved house and we are in the process of decorating. The living room had lining paper throughout which was done poorly and was hanging off in a lot of places, so I decided to strip it all off. However I am left with a lot of cracks, dents etc in all the walls. I know in an ideal world getting the walls skimmed would be the best option but this is out of my budget

I am looking at lining paper as an alternative, specifically Wallrock, is this just a waste of time or can it look ok? Wondering how you get rid of the joints on the paper
