Longtime Lurker with a New Stunning Sapphire!
So over the moon about the proposal but man am I in love with my ring. My fiance customized the design and paid a little more to keep the original sapphire. He did an amazing job!

Just lost my sweet 3 year old to FIC and wanting to give some education and information. My fiance and I basically scoured reddit to get help/info with this and this community is the one that pointed us in the right direction and gave us clarity because my fiance searched all day on here for advice
Chicken Nugget was the SWEETEST boy ever. Loving, kind to all animals even outside of his species, inquisitive and so so smart. More than that he was healthy and had regular vet visits to check in on him so this came without warning. Fireworks for the 4th were extremely loud this weekend and I was at work. I noticed he had vomited the next morning and I saw he was straining. Immediately I took him to the emergency vet aka within 24 hours. By the time they put the catheter in he had a necrotic penis and a ruptured bladder. 8 hours after admission they couldn't get him stable and my fiance and I went in to say our goodbyes.
My whole heart is broken and I've heard from friends who are vets and others that this isn't my fault, there's no way we could have known or nothing else we could have done but the guilt and shock is just all-consuming at this point. I'm in the healthcare field and I didn't catch this so it hits especially hard 💔
Edits cause there have been some questions: He had a ureteral obstruction caused by a severe stress reaction to the fireworks aka construction and blockage of the urethra. They took him in to unblock but at that time had found the bladder had ruptured and his penis had necrosed. By that time he had urine spilling into other organs and his abdomen and it was too late
