Hey Pack,

We need to own something real quick.

A couple of posts here recently that we believed was official art turned out to be AI-generated. We looked, we had a flicker of "hm, maybe?" and based on what we saw on the creator's profile at the time, we let that flicker go. That was a judgment call, and it was the wrong one. We take full responsibility for that.

It was not our intent to pull one over on you. We weren't skirting the own the rules we made. We were trying to spread art and credit the artist properly, and we genuinely thought what we saw was enough to confirm it. It wasn't, and that's on us to catch, not you. The second we had solid confirmation, it came down.

We do want to talk about the comments in response that crossed from "helpful heads up" into passive-aggressive territory. We get the frustration but snark and pile-ons aren't how we handle honest mistakes here, mod-made or not. If something looks off, a report or a candid "hey, is this AI?" does the job every time. That's the standard for all of us, Pack included.

We're human, we're volunteers, and we're going to miss things sometimes. When we do, we'll own it. Thanks for holding us accountable with kindness instead of teeth. Especially to the kind people in the mod mail and comments. Thank you everyone who reported as well.

Quick update please read 💛

We are in the death squeeze right now and we want to be transparent about what that means for you.

Posts are being approved as fast as two humans with real lives outside of this can manage. If yours is sitting in queue it's not forgotten, we see it, we're getting to it. Once you hit the karma threshold for the sub you'll be able to post without any of this disruption. It's not a high bar, just hang tight.

Please do not modmail us right now unless it's troll escalation that needs immediate action. That's what modmail is being used for right now and we need to keep that line clear. Everything else we will get to, we promise. Also if we already approved your post without responding don't expect a reply we are simply trying to triage and don't have time. We will be your pen pals in a calmer life. ✍️

The delay on approvals is intentional and it's working. We're blocking out a lot of nasty and we'd rather be slow and keep this place excellent than fast and let the void creatures in.

There's only two of us. You've been incredible. Keep reporting, keep being yourselves, and keep howling.

One more thing while we're here. We're seeing a few things leak in that we need to address:

Posts about people leaving the game, the game shutting down, and rumors or speculation about the game's future are rule breaks, full stop, and we don't do multiple warnings for those. Organizing here is absolutely welcome. Doom spiraling and exit announcements are not.

We've watched what that does to fan communities and we are not doing it here.

We are also getting flooded with the same petition links and action resources posted over and over as individual posts from tourists. We love that you're fired up. We have a dedicated thread for exactly this and that is where all of it needs to live so it gets the most eyes and the most impact.

If you post it separately we will likely remove it and ask you to drop it in the main thread instead. That's not us shutting it down, that's us keeping it organized so it actually works. The thread is pinned, easily accessible, please use it.

If you need to grieve, scream, and mourn with people in full widow mode, r/ValkoWidows exists and their words say it better than we can: "mad at I*fold? mourning our precious Valko's death? Well you've come to the right place!" Go get your catharsis.

Howling together either there or here depending on the awooo frequency is how we heal. You're allowed to love him here. This is one of Koko's homes. Here you can talk about his lore, what you wanted to see for him in his storyline, what you hoped for in his myth. Post the fan art. Thirsting over the Wolfman is not only allowed it's actively encouraged. This community has carried its pain with humor and heart and we want to see it keep doing exactly that. This is a rough time but Koko deserves a space that thrives even when the world feels like it's falling apart and that's what we're building.
