Hello! I'm not in university yet, but I'm wondering how people take pre-lecture, and lecture notes properly? I'd just like to be prepared before university begins. (I also take notes on my ipad, with my apple keyboard. I have a 4.0 gpa right now with this so I'd like to continue using digital notes.) Ok so I'm going into Grade 11 and I'm scared! Does anyone have any tips, or advice? I got a 96% average in my Grade 10 year. I'm just really nervous I'm already thinking about scholarships and everything </3 I want to go to McMaster or Western for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN).
My aunt is so controlling, I hate being around her sometimes. She always finds a way to micromanage, or criticize me for something. Normally it doesn't get to me, but as I'm starting to get older it's getting irritating. I'm 16 right now.
This morning, she wakes me up by barging into my room, telling me I need to wake up. She gets upset that I've been sleeping for twelve hours, and tells me that, "Get up, you've been sleeping for 12 hours you can't do that." I told her that how was I supposed to know I was sleeping for 12 hours? You don't let me bring my phone in my room, and I don't have an alarm. She just replies with, "Well I'm just telling you." Then she turns it into how I'm reliant on my phone, which I reply with "Not really. I'm reliant on alarms in general. You can get me a big block one." (Plus it's summer, who cares?)
Then, I go to take a quick shower. I struggle with dry skin, so after I get out I lotion, and my skin gets dry again. Turns into another problem. She asks me to see my legs, and arms so I show her. She claims that, "You didn't lotion properly." I told her I did, and I want her to stop putting words in my mouth, I don't like it. She tells me to go lotion again, so I go in the bathroom to do so. All of a sudden, she tells me to bring the lotion bottle outside and lotion in front of her so she can see what I'm doing "wrong." I roll my eyes, but did it anyway. She got upset at me because I rubbed the lotion into my hands before putting it on my arms, and legs. She told me to stop, and redo it. I got annoyed, and continued anyways. She said that it'd be a "test" to see if I'm lotioning properly, and if my skin would dry out again. A test...? Over some LOTION...? REALLY???!!!
Anyways, here comes the afternoon. I'm just relaxing on the couch in the dark, reading some manga on my laptop. She comes barging in, and gets upset at me. It's because I was reading in the dark, and I wear glasses. She turns the lights on saying, "You can't be reading in the dark. You think money grows on trees, you don't have 20/20 vision." I told her, "You're putting words into my mouth. I dont think money grows on trees. I never said that." She tells me just "Don't let it happen again."
Another thing she did was say when I paid for my own phone, and phone bill there would still be rules around it. Which isn't fair. I'm going to look for jobs when the new school semester starts, and buy a phone off facebook marketplace or something. She can't control that phone, it's my money. I feel like she's always looking for control over something, and it's driving her nuts that soon she won't have any of that.
Anyways, what can I do about this? The more she does it, it just pushes me away from her further and further. She also goes through my phones, and a couple of my diaries. I don't write anything down anymore, I just keep my thoughts in my head. It's just annoying. She thinks I'm still a little kid, I'm 16. I'm going to be a legal adult in 2 years.
