Local Recommendations

Hiya everyone! I’ve recently traveled to the Lincoln area for academics and I desperately need some local recs for when I’m physically here. If anyone has any suggestions, I’d be super grateful 🥹

Here are the following needs I have for potential recommendations:

  1. Best nail salon (acrylics, preferably)
  2. Best hair salon (for curly hair AND good color)
  3. Ideal hiking areas and/or trails to sightsee
  4. Affordable horseback riding (this is a Hail Mary request from my inner Horse girl (TM) lol)
  5. Places to go to dance
  6. Hobby-based options (like crochet, book clubs, rock climbing, etc.)

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to shoutout their faves! Appreciate you all 🥰

Scammed: Gross stains & currently no solution

EDIT: I’m redoing this post as it was unjustly removed for false allegations.

Hello everyone, I don't normally do this, but I feel the need to show what just happened as the Vinted Help Centre is proving to be unhelpful. I purchased a pair of vintage Juicy Couture sweatpants from a seller I'd never purchased from before but who had decent reviews. I am attaching all photos to show what the listing said, what I found, and what happened to the pants when I tried to wash them.

I purchased these recently and just got them in the mail today. I rushed home to try them on as I'd splurged on an item (juicy couture sweatpants!) to appease my inner child. Unfortunately, after I tried them on and decided to keep them, I took them off to wash them (as I do with all new items I purchase). When I took them off, they came off inside out as they are decently skin tight, and when they pooled at my feet I saw it... BLOODY, VAGINAL DISCHARGE dried on the crotch of these pants. Obviously I was disgusted as it TOUCHED ME and I rushed to throw it into the washing machine along with my underwear and then cleansed my body with fire. Unfortunately, it did not fully clean the first wash through, and I had to put them in A SECOND TIME as the biohazard became... gooey. (I am SO sorry for this! I am trying hard not to vomit).

Listen, I am not one to judge, many people go commando when they wear their clothing. But who TF sells clothing online and doesn't a) wash it first and b) check to make sure there isn't any special BIOHAZARD SURPRISES for the buyer!?!? Anyway, I immediately asked for a partial refund as I already washed them and felt that my efforts to clean this sweatpants means that they should not be returned the seller (e.g. they should not be REWARDED for sending something so disgusting to a buyer). For some reason, they declined my request for a partial refund and simply asked for me to return it ... ON MY DIME. Meaning I have to PAY to send back an item that I had to CLEAN to a seller... for what, them to sell it to some other sucker, now freshly washed due to my efforts??! I dont think so... I've attached their response when I messaged them telling them I didn't think it was fair for them to request me to send them back. At this point, it's not even about the money, it's the principle. They should not be able to SELL THEM AGAIN given what they did.... and this is definitely the type of item that would 100% sell.

Update: Yall were right… Vinted Help Centre was not helpful. Right now it’s looking like an issue with them violating the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (section 9 and 11), their own Catalogue Rules (section 2), and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (as we’re all forced to purchase the alleged “buyer protection”). So I’ll let y’all know what their legal, PR and general team’s responses are once they see my email come Monday.

Scammed: Laundered for Seller

I don't even know what I want from this. I want this seller to know this is NOT OKAY, and I want a partial refund, and I want VINTED to take this seriously. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your patience and time (:
