Four years ago, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Four years later, we're still fighting for the fundamental principle that our bodies belong to us.

If politicians are going to insert themselves into private medical decisions, maybe they should start by regulating the bodies that aren't carrying pregnancies. The point is simple: government—and too often, men with little understanding of women's healthcare—shouldn't be making deeply personal medical decisions for women.

🚺 PRITZKER: CODIFY ROE

Illinois has become a leader in protecting reproductive healthcare, and those protections matter. But laws can be repealed. Courts can change. We've all learned that rights we assumed were secure can disappear.

That's why we're asking Governor Pritzker and Illinois lawmakers to take the next step: protect bodily autonomy in the Illinois Constitution so that future politicians can't simply vote those rights away.

Bodily autonomy means exactly that—our bodies, our decisions. Whether it's abortion, forced sterilization, contraception, fertility care, or pregnancy complications, history has shown the danger of allowing politicians to decide who gets control over someone else's body.

Rights shouldn't depend on who's in office.
