I Take Back My Previously-Uncouth Comments About Variations Listings...

In the past, I may have made some… hasty and sophomoric judgements, about listings that used variations, to sell Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards.

I might have used words like “lazy” and “misleading.”

I felt, and I know, at least a couple of people, agreed...

(and maybe even triggered the post with their constant rage texts.. I’m looking at you J&J)

...listings with variations, were notorious for, presenting a drop box with, either nothing in it, or an overpriced bait-and-switch number.

But,  I’m not getting many sales on eBay, lately and…well…a girls’ gotta eat,

So, I thought I would try something new, and create a listing for cards, with variations, for rare, Series 2 cards.

Turns out, creating a variations listing, is not as easy as it looks.

So, I humbly apologize and take back my previous, regrettably ill-mannered, comments.

Hopefully,  my listing is different in that it is:

  1. All rare cards
  2. Actually underpriced for every card
  3. All the same price
  4. The number for all the cards in the listing is hugely discounted

If you’re in the market for a rare or typically-expensive Series 2 card, check me out

Free Beat-up Mineru... If you want her on your Island...

This card was part of a sale. I don't need her but Mineru is gorgeous so I know someone wants her on their Island. She's free to a good home. Just DM me.

I Do Not Heart Variations...

Anyone else avoid listings with variations? No? Just me? Tracks.
Ok well among other complaints I have, listings with variations can kick rocks because 1. They show up in *lowest price* searches because they feature a bum card for 2$. 2. Suck at navigation, forcing you to take lag time for every single card. 3. In my experience all the cards are shockingly overpriced. Maybe it's because, only professional card sellers, who don't care about the community, use them. Anyway...my rant for the day... enjoy your coffee.

New Fish In July: In Animal Crossing New Horizons

It’s July in the Northern Hemisphere in Animal Crossing New Horizons, and we have 5 cool new fish to get excited about.

In the “HUGE” category, found only in the ocean you’ll find the blue marlin all day long off the pier, and the ocean sunfish and the Napoleon fish from 4:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

In the sea, look for the puffer fish all day.

Finally our only new river fish is a tiny little sweet fish.

Animal Crossing New Horizons: List of New Bugs & Insects in July

A little over a week into July, and I’m sure you have noticed some new critters scurrying around your Island. There's a smattering of new, high-dollar creatures, to add to your museum in July. (yes I'm aware bells aren't dollars, but the $$, in my graphic, fuel me.

The grasshopper and earth-boring dung beetle won’t earn you much, but are easily found on the ground.

In the trees look for the brown cicada, robust cicada, giant cicada, evening cicada, scarab beetle, giant stag, saw stag, miyama stag, horned dynastid and walking stick. The scarab beetle and the giant stag are the rare species, earning 10,000 bells each. Also in trees you can find cicada shells… if you are into that sort of thing.

Make sure you have plenty of palm trees, so you can sneak up on a golden stag, or giraffe stag, both worth 12,000. Rare Horned elephant, atlas and Hercules also rest on palm tress, with the horned Hercules earning the most at 12,000

Finally, the walking leaf, which is worth 600, looks like a leaf but as you approach it, pops into an insect and flys away. If you really want to catch one, try sneaking up on all the leaves on your Island, like a complete psychopath.

Do you have all the July bugs in your museum, which was the hardest to catch?

Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Design a Flag? And What Are You Doing With Them?

The default Animal Crossing Flag is cute but, I typically change it as soon as I can. You can use the pixel-art feature in your Nook Phone, to design a new flag that better suits your Island vibe.
Sites like https://pixelartvillage.com let you change any image into pixel art for use on your Island.
This image is from my Island called "Faraway" I know the monogram letter is depressingly ordinary but I definitely like the colors on this Island. I also made the heart. I like to put my flag on sheds, signs and these lamp posts.
What do you like to do with your flags? I'd love to see a photo..

How Do You Create Your Island Layout?: Terraforming & Animal Crossing New Horizons

I have the hardest time with layout. My plans change completely after I'm able to move stuff around.
When I start I want my house to be close to everything, but later I want it farther away.
I used to tear up all the cliffs and go from there. Now I try to leave as much as possible because over time I learned I would have to put a lot of it back anyway.
I try to put the stores together, and near Resident Services, because I think it makes everyone easier to find.
Have y'all used this Happy Island Designer App? It's amazing. I was literally trying to do this myself with photoshop and my lack of creativity, before I found it. This makes it so much easier. Here's the link:

What's your process? I'd love to get some insight into how other people design their layout.

Who Are Your "Dreamies" i.e. Who is on your Island?

I have 2 Islands

Island 1 is Ione, Rosie, Judy, Mitzi, Bluebear, Diana, Shino, Freya, Merry, Pekoe (There is a color theme on this Island so I might have to move around Shino and Pekoe....we'll see)

Island 2 is Daisy, Olive, June, Flurry, Sylvana, Punchy, Kiki, Purrl, Lolly, Cheri

You can probably tell I love cats. I guess Punchy is my only boy. I used to have more but there were issues...

Anyway, who is on your Island?

I'd love to see....

Let's Talk About Bad Sellers: Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards...

Since I started collecting Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards, I’ve naturally come across some sellers who, leave a lot to be desired.

There are sellers who accidentally cheat you because they don’t know what they’re doing and don’t know their cards are fake, or they don’t disclose damage.

If It’s an honest mistake, I usually don’t take issue with it.. Most of them will try to make it right. The ones, who don’t care they’ve duped you, are the ones I hate dealing with.

There are also sellers that DO know what they’re doing, and do it on purpose. I’m not talking about charging too much, because, within reason, value is up to the buyer to assess (as long as damage is disclosed.)

I’m talking about the sellers, with knowledge, who take advantage of their target audience. A lot of buyers don’t know that there are real Amiibo cards, fake Amiibo cards and mini Amiibo cards.. They’re not aware that there are English-language North American cards and English-Language European cards, and that they have a difference in value.

Unscrupulous sellers don’t disclose this information  AND go out of their way to hide it in the photos.

There are a couple of sellers on one site right now that use photos of real Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards and use the term “Amiibo” (which is a Nintendo trademarked term) and then send you fake cards. When you say something they tell you that you should have known because, if you look under the “small print” it says “made in China” which… I mean… so is everything. There is nothing saying Nintendo didn’t mass produce their cards in China, (although I know that’s doubtful) but who would think to look at that.

Of course there are also many sellers that sell you cards and then send you nothing. They upload fake tracking numbers, that the USPS doesn’t recognize, or they just do nothing. The USPS isn’t perfect and packages do go missing all the time, but you can usually tell in dealing with the seller whether or not it’s their fault or out of their control. I have lost most of the money I have lost this way. Packages just sitting in limbo on my purchase page.

Finally, the worst sellers are the mean ones. I don’t know what it is, about selling trading cards online, that  attracts so many people who are just…. really awful. There is so much arrogance and unwarranted criticism in their communication, it really gives me a headache.

I’ve decided  I’m going to leave this post here for people to comment with their horror stories. I think it would be helpful to our community to be transparent with each other, not only to help the buyers, but it also helps honest sellers. Let me know what your worst experience with bad cards is as well.
