Are there two types of solo travellers?

I've been thinking about this lately. Like why do people say they're going for solo trip or they say "I'm a solo traveller"?

I've come to two thoughts -

  1. People who seek experiences.
  2. People who seek transformation.

I've also wondered why do people tend to take their first solo trip? Im very curious to know.

For those who have taken a solo trip:

  1. Why did you decide to go alone for the first time?
  2. What changed afterward, if anything?
  3. Were you seeking experiences, transformation, or a bit of both?
  4. If you had never taken that first solo trip, what would you have missed out on besides the destination?

I’ve been thinking about how exhausting travel planning can get especially when everything online feels repetitive (same destinations, same itineraries, same “top 10” lists).

I’m exploring an idea and wanted honest feedback, not promotion.

The concept is a service for solo women travelers who want safe, luxurious, and less touristy experiences highly focused on discovering UNDERRATED DESTINATIONS and creating personalized itineraries based on your travel style (slow, adventurous, relaxing, etc.)

Instead of spending weeks researching, the idea is to get a curated plan that actually feels personal and different.

Before I go deeper into building this, I wanted to ask:

Would you actually pay for something like this?

If yes:

* what would make it worth paying for?

* what’s your biggest frustration with planning trips right now?

If no:

* what would stop you?

Genuinely trying to understand if this solves a real problem or not.

Hi everyone,

I’m building an idea called Staywithme.ai and I’d love honest feedback from women who enjoy solo travel, luxury travel, or are planning their next unforgettable trip.

The idea is simple:

Instead of giving the same overused tourist destinations everyone already knows, Staywithme.ai helps solo women discover safe, luxurious, underrated, and unforgettable destinations that feel personal and unique.

It focuses on:

• hidden luxury destinations
• safe and thoughtful solo travel planning
• personalized day-by-day itineraries
• recommendations based on your travel style (slow, adventurous, relaxing, romantic, restorative)
• beautiful stays, aesthetic cafés, local hidden gems, and elegant experiences

The goal is to save you months of endless research and help you experience places that feel like they were waiting for you.

I’d love honest answers:

  1. Would you personally pay for a service like this instead of spending weeks planning yourself?
  2. What is your biggest frustration with travel planning right now?
  3. What would make you trust and pay for a service like this?

Brutally honest feedback is welcome, I’m validating the idea before building.

Thank you 😄
