What if… 🔄

So we know the girls base powers and how their powers would grow. What if we reversed that? Their last power becomes their first. So season 1:

Prue: Astral Projection
Piper: Molecular Combustion
Phoebe: Empathy

Age orders are the same. Everything else is the same. How does season 1 of Charmed play out. Powers that were supposed to match their character development suddenly become the status quo (although we see hints of it early on i.e; Piper’s outbursts). Also the active vs. passive powers are now shuffled.

Give me your thoughts on how the show plays out.

Spell making is an OP power

Am I the only one bothered by how little the girls used their ability to make spells on the fly. Like they created soells to do a multitude of things OUTSIDE of vanquishing demons:

Phoebe:
- Transformed people’s appearances and even into other species.

- Made a spell to immediately learn anything she touched.

- The Source Vanquishing spell (I know I said outside of vanquishing but this was a MAJOR big bad).

Piper:
- Made a security guy fall in love with Phoebe

- Created spells to both completely erase and restore the house in one episode.

- Made a spell to take away Phoebe’s powers (even though they already had a spell that did that).

- Created a spell to hide Leo from DEATH.

Prue
- Created a spell to give a woman good luck and also protect her from a demon.

They seemed to operated on the Wizards of Waverley Place/DC Zatanna rules where as long as you could rhyme it, it would happen. Sometimes you needed a potion but for the most part it was just you.

So my question… WHY is this not used more frequently. Forget personal gain stuff (which is also a plot hole many many… MANY times in Charmed). They could have just helped innocents using this power. They could have bestowed new powers upon themselves to defeat villains. Especially being the Charmed Ones, they could cast spells other beings couldn’t. Like yeah things may have gotten boring quick, but they could have had fun with the whole “magic doesn’t always work the way you thought it would” trope.

Just seems like we didn’t get as much as we should have. If you think about it spell making & casting is basically an active power itself. Yeah it takes time but you can warp reality similar to Billy’s projection power (which you could essentially see as wordless spell casting since intent is still needed).

TLDR: Spellcasting is SEVERELY underutilized in Charmed considering how OP it is.

Pick a side Red

SPOILERS AHEAD 🚨🚨🚨

Red was highkey pissing me off during “Did You Head About Them”. Like girl could not stay consistent to save her life. I get her arc is learning to accept she’s both and HK and VK or whatever, but why are you abandoning your romantic interest, best friend, and SISTER for people you don’t even really like. Because you’re all VKs? They don’t even see you as one.

Like yeah she has no memories of Pink at this point and had just started to like Luis, but CHLOE?!?! What happened to all the loyalty friendship built over the course of the first movie.

Also it comes of less her having an identity crisis and more her just being out of place. Like she’ll dance with Luis and join in the “He’s a hero, he’s a leader” stuff the walk over to Hazel’s side and be like “You better not mess with her.” Like PICK. A. SIDE… or just stay out of it.
