Alright, I finally finished my first 500pts of Legion of The Damned. Lemme know what you think!
We’ve got:
- Smash Captain
- Lieutenant
- Librarian
- 5x Vanguard Veterans
- 5x Intercessors
- Land Speeder
With all the recent buzz on this sub following the App update, it has me left wondering this one question:
Was the Combat Patrol game mode, or a variant of it, more popular than the wider 40k Community was aware of?
The entirety of 10th Edition, the mode was written off as unbalanced, not as good as Spearhead, “literally unplayable,” or only barely having merit as an intro to 40k. Almost any video made online referencing the mode was strictly about how good of a discount the boxes were, and not as a playable force.
However, there were always whispers in corners of discussions about local scenes doing ComPat tournaments, families playing it to save money and time, and others modifying it to fit their needs with KOtC and OPR style tweaks.
Are you guys surprised, or have you always known its secret popularity?

And before it’s said, yes, I know starting this discussion IN this sub is like talking to an echo chamber, but I feel like the discussion has to start somewhere.
Decided to start up The Damned for going into 11th Edition, lemme know what y’all think. C&C Welcome!
Not as wild as some conversions or schemes, but I like to think they’re alright.
Assuming Combat Patrol as a game mode survives into 11th Edition, and the launch box will give two ComPats, what do we think the Space Marine half of the Armageddon Box will be?
Personally, I think if we look at Leviathan as a template, two of the characters will be dropped and the Land Speeder. So, maybe something like...
Captain, (Character), Intercessors, Vanguard Vets, and the Eradicators.
But, we also have some other ComPats released after 10th that ended up including vehicles, so who knows.
Any thoughts?
