Good inexpensive starter trail shoes?
I am a guy who runs 10-14 miles a week on hilly roads.
My friend wanted to do a trail run in September so I found a less grueling one at 5k, in Pinson Alabama, the Darter Dash. As best I can tell, it is designed to not be an extreme race and not too hilly, but that leaves me asking do I run the in my
Nike Vomero Plus - stack might be too high. Grip too low
Aging Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 (my typical for local 5k road races). Lower stack but low grip for trails
Or should I buy an inexpensive trail shoe for the occasional trail race? If so, what shoe?
I might be able to find some past-year Hoka Speed Goats or something
