Toshiba SD-V55HT power supply HELP PLEASE

Hey everyone. So I have this old Toshiba SD-V55HT VCR unit and I do not intend to throw it out. But the power isn't working on it.

When I plug in the unit, I can hear a high pitch sound. Idk if it's normal, but it's coming from this transformer in the picture.

What would everyone's recommendations be for diagnosing and testing the power supply board? Because honestly, I'm stumped and don't know what to do...

[PlayStation] What is up with the HDMI port solder being SO STUBBORN? Or am I missing something/doing something wrong?

Seriously. I've worked on a ps5 and a PS3 HDMI port, and each one is equally as stubborn.

It seems like no amount of heat or flux is enough to melt the solder.

My copper braids even fail at sucking up the solder too!

Is it just me? Or am I doing something wrong? Because I am holding a rework air gun above the points, and the joints won't liquify until I touch them with a soldering iron...

It just seems so nasty and stubborn to me. Idk what I'm doing wrong??
